AMD Llano vs Intel Sandybridge

  1. Looks like AMD will have the edge in graphics and power consumption.

     
  2. Looks pretty good, but I think I'll wait for independent tests before I assume too much.
     
  3. No doubt Llano's GPU is far stronger than Sandybridge's. This slide from AMD shows that Intels commitment is very bias to the CPU portion of the chip while AMD's is more balanced.

    I guess for accelerated media use Llano will be the better option, for legacy and/or use with items that cannot use of the GPU, SB will be the better option.
     
  4. Of course the benchmarks and prices will provide the ultimate conclusion but I think what the Llano will give us is cheap gaming laptops. We might see some $500 laptops that can play the latest games.
