Carmageddon Reincarnation Early Access is out on steam, and has been for a year now, but I just heard about it. Not being a PC guy I don't have any experience with early access deals. I've never felt the need to pay for a broken unfinished version of a game I'm looking forward to. But I'm gonna buy this. The reason I'm buying it is because if you pay a small fee of £19.99 you get the early access, which is nice I suppose, but what has me interested is the fact you also get Carmageddon Max Pack, which is the first game with zombies and green blood but also the 18 rated splat pack edition which has humans with red blood. Also included in the £19.99 price tag is Carmageddon 2 Carpocalypse Now, and Carmageddon The Death Race 2000. So that's all the Carmageddon games, bonus versions included, and the early access of the new game for £20! Bargain. Looks like I'll be playing some games on my laptop soon.
Not all the games. Where's the original? @bfun the games are actually pretty bad. Racing is terrible due to the floaty handling and the fact that the AI spend all their time ramming into you. It's basically a mix of Destruction Derby and GTA. Just get GTA 5
It's more like an ultra violent Twisten Metal without the weapons. It's meant to be a race, but usually just ends up as a destruction derby. Lot's of fun as a kid, I particularly liked the damage modelling which was pretty advanced for its time and being able to repair any non fatal damage on the fly (although that seemed like an unfair advantage over the AI). The second game while not as groundbreaking and a little less gritty due to the graphics being all 3D and having hardware rendering, did expand on the vehicles really well.... to kind of rediculous levels. What kept me playing 2 was the fact that you could buy any cars you destroyed. It became more of a 'gotta catch them all' mentality. I'm not sure if I'd enjoy this anymore let alone a newer and in turn probably more realistic/disturbing reincarnation, but I'll probably give it a go for cheap. PS. I think the 'zombie' versions were made to avoid AO ratings for a console release only. I don't remember seeing them at all on PC.
