If you don't have Netflix, get an account. Then share some streaming movies/tv shows that are worth watching. I suppose, you can also mentions the bad ones too, so they can be avoided. Good: The Oxford Murders Shutter Island Casino Falling Down Goodfellas Groundhog Day Outsourced (movie) Hoffa 30 rock The union Now I'm tired.
Any experience streaming netflix to a Wii? My father in law just got an HDTV and wants to stream netflix, and it's the only capable device he has right now. Does it work well? The Wii has such shitty specs that I can't imagine it being anything but a mess.
It works well now that they have a dedicated app, I've seen no problems with the Wii. Plus Netflix lets you use one account on 5 registered devices simultaneously, now.
Wow, I think I was timed out the first time I tried to post this. Weird. Apocalypse Now Redux North Face Runaway Train (Jon Voight is freaking INTENSE in this flick...can't be overstated) The Odessa File China Syndrome Mean Streets Carlito's Way The Killing of a Chinese Bookie (well, maybe not...I watched the 1978 'Director's Cut' and this is the 1976 version which is inferior) I usually try to avoid titles listed as 'Starz Play', since that's usually pan/scan and not the original aspect ratio.
Spartan Fullmetal Jacket Zack Galifinakis: Live Tyson Inside Deep Throat The Pianist Terminator 2 Astroboy Then Men Who Stare At Goats Black Dynamite Rush Hour 2 David Cross: Bigger and Blackerer Afro Samurai Drunken Master Oldboy Close Encounters of the Third Kind The Shawshank Redemption Good Will Hunting Batman Food Matters The Machinist Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid The Majestic Nosferatu The Iron Giant What's Eating Gilbert Grape The Warriors World's Greatest Dad Stand By Me Aliens: Collector's Edition John Q Exit Through the Gift Shop (amazing film) Heat Caddyshack Jackie Brown Under the Hood Rocky IV The Universe And my favorites Rashoman Yojimbo Sanjuro The Hidden Fortress High and Low Twilight Samurai Kagemusha Some of those might not be on there anymore, but I was going through my viewing history and picked out the good ones. I watch a shit-ton of Netflix.
Firefly I considered buying this but then I discovered that I can watch it when ever I want on Netflix.
Special Ops Mission: Fucking awesome military tactics "reality" tv show Harper's Island: A sociopath kills 2-3 people an episode, fun to watch Defiance: James Bond helps russian jews kill nazis. Monster: Slow paced movie, worth watching while working. Wire in the Blood S1-S6: Very good if you like gritty crime solving Death at a Funeral: Pretty funny Grown Ups: Decent enough if you are bored Black Snake Moan: Not as advertised, but ok to watch. Kiss of the Dragon: Great Jet Li movie Smokie & the Bandit: Decent Jason X: So bad it's good The Chase: Stupid charlie sheen movie, good time waster Mortal Kombat: MORTAL KOMBAT!
damnit my free trial ends like today (or tomorrow doesn't matter I'm shutting it off today). It kinda' peeves me off that 99% of the movies I look for Most of the movies are 'recorded' off Starz or Encore and I already get those channels so... It's pretty much a waste. I do wish they had some actual content passed the hulu wannabee TV and anime. It wasn't at ALL what I had expected. I had watched a bunch of baseball movies (Cobb, Hank Greenburg, 8 men out, Sandlot 2 :/ OMG did that suck lol) a couple old movies (Pride of the Yankees, Paper Moon, The Sting, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and a few animes. I wish this post came a few days earlier :/ GAWD! I watched death at a funeral and it was TERRIBLE lol. oh and I thought it was funny seeing a very young Charlie Sheen in 8 men out. oh I watched a couple decent recent flix like hot tub time machine and wedding daze. I loved wedding daze it's basically a slightly toned down American Pie 2 (a MUCH toned down American Pie... I hated AP1) Oh yeah and Defiance. I liked that holocaust movie a lot. Shoulda watched letters from iwo jima.... oh well.
Netflix changed their ratings from 5 stars to a simple Thumbs Up/Down. Makes me sad, as I put a lot of thought into my ratings. They had a great algorithm for recommendations based on my ratings. There are shows that I like, but won't necessary continue to watch. I guess I'll have to give them thumbs up instead of a 3... #firstworldproblems
I wonder how it will work out as most ratings are 2 to 3 stars. Anything below a 4 star rating from me will be thumbs down.
Netflix stock just tanked 25% or roughly $150 billion dollars. The rumor is they will be cracking down on password sharing and maybe introduce adds to increase revenue. I think both ideas will only make things worse for them.
No ads and the ability to share your account were two of the main selling points of Netflix. Their content isn't that good overall, so being able to share the account with your family makes it an easier pill to swallow. It sounds like they don't understand their own customer base.
Yeah I share with the in-laws. I would have dropped it a long time ago but they aren't too tech savvy and sharing was easier than walking them through a subscription.
Indeed. My friend and I split the 4k plan together. Even after all that, I use Netflix less than HBO max, disney+, AND paramount plus...
This sudden decline and loss of value is quite a shock given the high quality, crowd pleasing content they're providing.
The funny thing is most of us have all these streaming services because of shared passwords. If they crack down, we'll probably go back to cable and share the 2Go app of the cable provider lol.
My family already does that. My father in law gets Comcast cable TV for next to nothing through the HOA in his neighborhood. He shares the account with us and with my wife's sister. We can get to almost anything on cable TV through Roku apps and Xfinity Stream. In exchange he gets Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, Paramount, and Apple TV. Everything gets shared between the three households. Everyone pays for something. No one pays for everything. Keeps it cheap for all.
It seems like many people are predicting the fall of Netflix due to a bad business model, increased competition, and the lack of business diversity. HBO has managed survive, but they have better content. Disney can last forever. Hulu has live local TV. Paramount and Apple are diversified. I guess Netflix still has the physical DVDs they ship through the mail. My Mom still uses that.
HBO is part of Time Warner/ WarnerMedia/Discovery/AT&T or whatever they are calling themselves this week. Netflix is the only one that isn't a conglomerate. Netflix should have used their peak cash flow to buy Tesla stock instead of shitty content.
