Samsung might buy AMD

  1. That's right. Samsung might be buying AMD. AMD needs a money injection and access to the mobile market. Samsung could use their graphics know-how, patents, and x86 licenses. It would work out well for both companies.

  2. Sounds like a desperation move by Samsung.

  3. That's funny because I thought it sounded like a desperate move by AMD. There was another rumor a while ago saying some Chinese company was looking to buy AMD. Maybe AMD has been shopping for buyers.

  4. AMD has been on the verge of bankruptcy for awhile. I really don't want to see them go under and leave Intel and nVidia with no competition. nVidia cards are already way too expensive due to lack of competition. This would be a good thing.

  5. Oh yeah. When I bought my GTX 780 it had just dropped $300 because the 290X came out. Without AMD Nvidia will rape us.

Imagine the brand recognition that would come with a Samsung X86 CPU.

  6. I was just gettin used to having an AMD Radeon!! :/
