We know they leaked the info on Xbox LIVE a while back but here's the official announcement. It's about damn time if you ask me. If only with it was the superior Gamecube Sonic Adventure 2: Battle version. They did release a dlc upgrade for the original turning it into the DX version so one can hope they do the same here. This was my favourite Sonic game right up until Generations was released, so I'm glad to see them finally re-releasing it. Oh, did I mention it's being upgraded to HD too? None of this letterbox crap that everyone complained about with the re-release of SA1.
