Steam goes mobile (limited beta)

  1. Had to make sure I wrote limited beta in there. I downloaded the app by reflex yesterday only to be disappointed when it wouldn't let me log in. Download the app, attempt to login, and it'll add your account to a pending invite list.

Steam officially goes mobile so you can communicate with your steam buddies via mobile and shop for steam games on the go. This might open a mobile gaming section so Valve can rake in more money?

  2. Awesome. There have been some great deals I missed during weekend and holiday sales because I wasn't home.

  3. JUST TAKE MY WALLET DAMNIT STEAM!! lol. This has to be the greatest service known to man. Next they'll buy Netflix, maybe Onlive.

  4. I've got the app. Now I'm waiting for the invite. I hope they haven't closed the beta yet.

  5. I got in yesterday. Sent cmdr an invite.. not sure if those invited people have a waiting period too. All of the people I've invited have yet to accept so i'm not sure how it works.

  6. My friend redeemed the Steam mobile app gift. Looks like it's limited to one gift invite. :(

  7. Yeah, I saw that. It's fine. Thank you for thinking of me.

  8. I got accepted! I haven't gotten to play around with it much yet, but I have a feeling this will be bad for my wallet.

  9. How did you get accepted? You just downloaded the app and signed in?

  10. He flashed his boobs.

  11. Never mind. You just have to try to sign into the mobile app and wait awhile and they send you an invite. I just got mine. Does anyone want an invite to the beta?

I wonder if Valve plans to start selling mobile games.

  12. I don't have a smartphone and I assume it's android and ios only or something.

  13. Looks like invites are gone and the beta is open for all registered steam accounts now.

"The Beta is now open to all registered Steam accounts." per description on the market now.
