Social justice activists/ cultists have activated and deployed to battle a developer's attractive game character model for obviously being unrealistically proportioned and highly sexualized. Clearly this is an act of misogyny and sets impossible beauty standards no one could ever reach, leading to distress, oppression, and mental health problems for potentially billions of troubled women and girls. A minor issue with this claim of atrocities against women is that the character was created by 3D scan of an actual Korean woman, Shin Jae-eun, including her proportions and even her unusual jawline and sharp triangular chin: There were also claims she was designed to be very "child like." Shin Jae-eun is 32 years old. I'm sure that does not reflect underlying racist views of the people stating this nonsense who think that Asians look like children in any way given how morally pure and virtuous these activists tend to be. The game is looking promising and looks like it's going to have a lot in common with Bayonetta and Nier: Automata. I may pick it up if it turns out well overall.
The controls and combat in Stellar Blade is pretty damn good. I haven't used much of the color coded rhythmic parrying except in God of War, so my parry timing still sucks. I'm usually concerned if the combat isn't designed by FROM, Platinum, or Team Ninja, but Shift Up impressed me with the demo.
