The new Zelda trailer looks really good. Is this still cell shading? Whatever it is, I find it visually appealing. Not sure about the new look for Link, it's a bit too Final Fantasy for my taste. Reading up... it seems like Far Cry meets Zelda. An open-world with day/night/weather cycles, destructible environments, NPC interactions/reactions, etc. Hopefully Nintendo delivers the concept better than Ubisoft.
That's unlikely to be true by final shipment. Nintendo releases are pretty well polished. I can't get over how good it looks artistically. I actually prefer linear to open world just for run times sake. I'm curious to see how this goes.
Yeah, the visual style in this game seems like the perfect blend between Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.
I was considering getting Breath of the Wild for the Wii U but the extra blue and yellow in some shots bothers me. Some have said the all the released Wii U video is from an early version so maybe it's been improved.
Possible...it sounds like there were some noticeable improvements in the Switch version vs. the earlier demos.
I wouldn't buy either version until someone compares the two versions. The Switch version will be a port, but not the same kind of port we've seen from Nintendo previously. For the past three generations of consoles, Nintendo has basically been using the same hardware (PowerPC + ATI/AMD GPU), but the Switch is an entirely new architecture for them. I've seen some articles saying the Wii-U version has the advantage because the game was developed natively for it, and I've seen other articles say the Switch is the better version because of the new hardware. When there is that kind of confusion pre-launch, I wouldn't buy it on day 1. If you have the option of either version, it would be smarter to wait a few days for some reviews of the two versions.
I just hate paying $60 for any game and this game will be at $60 for years. I can pre-order it for $48.
Switch is way too expensive if you already have a WiiU. I don't care how much better the game looks, it's still the same game. I'm actually only interested in the portability. I think I'll hold out for a cheaper version without dock.
I'm just going with the WiiU version. All these extras you have to pay for a Switch, assuming you can even get your hands on one, isn't worth it at the current prices.
This is how I felt when I was buying my copy of Twilight Princess for Gamecube. A decade later, I still have no regrets about that decision.
Kind of wished I'd pre-ordered it. For the most part, I can't tell the two apart. Sometimes I thought the Wii U looked better but at the end the Switch looked better.
Reviews make it sound like the greatest game to ever be produced on the planet Earth. Last night I found an unused Best Buy gift card. I can't remember where it came from but it's $50. Looks like BotW is back on the menu.
No. The number of perfect reviews has to be a new record for a game. I bought the game at lunch. Might play tonight.
