We don't have a Wii U thread so lets start one.. Anyway the reason I needed one... Bayonetta 2 is getting some crazy scores. A perfect 10 from Gamespot and 9.5 from IGN. It currently holds a score of 9.1 on Metacritic. I am so on the fence about the Wii U it is almost stupid. The first party games will be amazing, they always are but I don't want to spend £230 on a console that has to wait months to play a game. Saying that I spent £385 on a PS4 and only have 4 games for it in a year (may get The Evil Within this week). My wife has offered to get me a Wii U for Christmas, I just don't know whether to accept or not or to just ask her for a load of PS3 and PS4 games instead.
Why not have a PS4 and a Wii-U? There is some decent games on the Wii-U even if it is sparse at the moment.
The lack of games is my problem, is it really worth £230 when there are only 3-5 games that I would buy for the system at the moment which are. NSMB2 Super Mario World Donkey Kong Country Returns 2 Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors are possibilities which push it up to 5. The new Zelda would be a must buy when out but still no sign of a new Metroid. I could get MK8 but I think my daughter would play it more than me. Whereas on PS4 before Xmas I have Shadow of Mordor, The Evil Within, Lords of Fallen, Little Big Planet 3 and GTA V, Unity is an option too. There are also loads of games I have missed on PS3. Surely my money is far better spent on cheaper PS3 games I missed and the PS4 games?
I got both ps4 and wiiu. Both lack games at the moment. Problem with WiiU is that my ps4 is just few months old and I already have like 3 games and few more in upcoming weeks, including Assassin's Creed Unity, The Crew, Witcher 3 and others. My WiiU is like one year old, I have four games worth of playing and I barely see anything on the horizon. Bayonetta is not for me just like Hyrule Warriors is not either. I liked Super Mario World and remastered Wind Waker, we also spent some time with Mario Kart and Wii PartyU. Sadly, from all these, Wii PartyU is a strongest one, what really bothers me as an old Nintendo fanboy who owns all previous Nintendo consoles. I also have the Donkey Kong which makes five games in total but DK is just dissappointing. The future is unclear, somewhere there will be the new Zelda. New Super Mario or Metroid? Not really announced so we can only speculate. Other valuable games? Haven't heard of anything. If I could go back in time and talk to myself there, I would suggest to the other me to not to buy WiiU. Wii really needed games, WiiU pushes this trend to absolute boundaries.
