If he meant to troll it came out all wrong. He's said so many outrageous things before, but I think this might be the worst thing I've ever heard from him.
Trump has jumped the shark. lol I still think he's basically a wrestling heel. This interview is like something out a WWF/WWE press conference for their latest villain.
For otherwise rational people, outbursts like this are the only reason to vote for Trump. We'll get 4 years of presidential twitter battles and on-demand trolling.
The most ridiculous part is that he may still win simply because Hillary is so disliked and distrusted by a large part of the country. The debates should be amusing. Trump is a relentless bully and troll and no one in his own party knew how to handle him. Is Hillary really that great of a debater or public speaker to where anyone thinks she can actually take him on? I've always thought she lacked charisma and came across as transparently fake. The worst is when she does that fake country or southern accent even though she's from Illinois. Trump has proven that he is the king of trolls, but a Trump presidency would be a disaster. He would repeal Obamacare and replace it with nothing, probably do away with marriage equality since his VP is an angry homophobe, and appoint bad supreme court justices. He has a bromance with Putin and seems to want to rule us like a dictator. I love a good practical joke but I think it's time to get serious about who should really be president.
I think Hillary will be at a major disadvantage, as were the other republican nominees. Career politicians try to sway statistics and data in their favor, but most don't outright lie. Trump gives no fucks and says whatever pops into his head. Facts and data are no match for someone that can entertain and work an audience like he can. http://www.politifact.com/personalities/donald-trump/
Trump knows how to work a crowd. The facts don't matter to him or his followers. It's all about what sounds right and what he can make people believe. Hillary can cite facts and figures, but that won't matter to the average American voter if she comes across as fake and a bitch. Love him or hate him, Trump is extremely charismatic. He's the ultimate conman. Hillary has no charisma that I am aware of. She's crooked, but too transparently fake to really sell it. lol at her changing accents:
We saw all sorts of lies in the Brexit. There was a campaign to make political campaigns have to abide similar rules to advertising, which seems sensible. The post-factual world of politics is pretty scary.
Clinton is a liar too. She claims to support all of these progressive policies ($15 min wage, anti-TPP, etc) because she needs the younger, more progressive wing of the party that voted for Bernie Sanders. Except that her voting record is nearly indistinguishable from your average Republican, making it practically guaranteed she will flip flop on all of that stuff. Politically the choices this election are a moderate neoconservative Republican vs an apparent fascist/demagogue/white nationalist who admires Putin. After this Russia stuff, I will vote for Hillary as the lesser of two evils. I think there's too much at stake here to not vote. Trump is off his rocker and doesn't have the temperament or mental stability to run a country. Having him control the world's most powerful arsenal is scary. Trump would also overturn the progressive stuff Obama put into place and appoint bad supreme court justices. I think we also have to ask why Putin likes Trump so much and is helping him. I think he sees a dumber version of himself who he can control easily and who would pull out of NATO. Hillary is still evil. She's just the lesser evil of your everyday crooked career politician. Problem is people in this country hate career politicians with a passion and don't see political experience as a virtue, probably because our political system is so dirty.
Hillary's speech started off kind of weak, but she got better as she went, claims to have adopted a lot of Bernie's policies, and actually started to crack some decent jokes towards the end. I still think she needs to work on likability and charisma before the debates, but she seems to be getting better at giving speeches.
She is a war mongering asshole who is gonna agitate a proxy war with Russia via Syria. Fuck that noise.
@supersonic Look, I enjoyed the Trump Troll Train too. Watching him bully his way through the Republican Party was one of the most glorious things I've ever seen in the world of politics and couldn't have happened to a more deserving group of assholes. But the joke is about to go too far. Who is actually going to be President? If Hillary is at all serious about implementing some of Bernie's policies, it makes her easier to stomach. Bernie was a good man who wanted good things for the country. He was the only decent person running in this election. Unfortunately the douche vs turd song is right. Good people rarely make it to the finish line in modern American politics, and it always seems to come down to a douche vs a turd.
You're not wrong. I will pick independent or green, which in my state is a proxy vote for SHillary. It gets the job done and still conveys a dissatisfaction with the candidates.
How is Trump polling over there? We always get the party political support breakdown going into elections; it's never that accurate but I'm curious to know the level of support Trump has.
Clinton is currently leading. Trump got a boost after the RNC. Clinton then got a boost after the DNC and is now in the lead. The optimistic tone of the DNC seemed to resonate with people more than Trump's doom and gloom at the RNC. I also think Trump's joke about Russian hacking went over very badly. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/us/elections/polls.html http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-poll-idUSKCN1092M5
Holy shit! That is an insane amount of money on a coin flip... no wonder we get the candidates we do. No rational human being would take those odds.
