  1. LA Noire already 75% off. $12.50 for a game not even two months old yet on PC. CHA CHING.

    Steam wins.

  2. I'll wait till it's 90% off, I got tons of games to subject myself too in the mean time :)

  3. I'm not sure what the deal is, but I can't log onto Steam currently. I have no problem with my internet connection.

  4. Their servers are probably getting raped. Everyone is home right now.

  5. I purchased L.A. Noire with all the DLC just in time I guess.

  6. Goddamnit, it's $22.50 here...

  7. Still can't log on. It doesn't give me an opportunity to choose to play offline. It just says there's an internet snafu of some sort and that's about it. I thought maybe there'd be a way to right click an icon or something to play my Steam stuff offline.

  8. That's very weird, try again if you can. Maybe disconnect yourself from the internet first though.

  9. Is this your first time running the game? Generally, it needs the internect connection on the first time then you should be fine playing offline afterwards. Generally.

  10. It was some sort of weird bug. I spent most of the evening working it out. The fix was deleting two ".blob" files in the Steam folder.

  11. It's encore time. If you missed any big sales they're back on for the next day.

  12. How is LA Noire? The sale is still going on and I'm thinking about buying it.

    If it's a shoddy port like GTA 4 I think I'll pass.

  13. I got it but probably wont play it for several months.

  14. I picked it up. It was too cheap to pass up. It will probably end up being terrible with my luck, but whatever. It has very good reviews, but very poor word of mouth. So I have no idea what to expect.

  15. I think we have a new contender for worst PC port in existence. I've never seen a game chug as bad as LA Noire. No wonder this game was only $12 a month after launch.

Edit: change multithreaded to single threaded. This resolved all of my performance issues for some reason. I can now max the game at 1680x1050. Very strange because I don't have a single core CPU.

  16. Think that'd work for GTA4 as well? I have no idea why that'd fix it either, unless the two settings are misslabled or something.

  17. well it being made for a console on a single core may be the case...

  18. But all the consoles that it was released on have multiple cores...
