Dudes this has been rumbling on for far too fucking long now......the only way you'll ever be sure if there is a supreme creator is when you die and it'll be too late to get the last word on the forum then. If you believe, fine; if you don't then fine too. Life is too short to argue over theoretical punctuation and deeply held beliefs. Just be thankful that gripper isn't here anymore.
I'm calling things like voodoo non-parlor trick stuff. Yes, summoning monsters too... but that's mostly demons and other 'spiritual' beings like that. Also included are crystal ball stuff and psychiatry (JOKING on the last one lol). Damned shrinks. Booze isn't a diety per say but it can be lifted to the level that a diety is. It's like how some might say that 'Football is your god' it's obviously not a god it's just you treat it like you would a religion and a god.
Yeah, because voodoo is real magic lol. Making dolls and having witchdoctors curse you. Believing in supernatural things without good reason is foolhardy and such people are asking for ridicule in my opinion.
@arma: plenty of scientists are religious nowadays too. I think they have no issue reconciling their faith with their work. I don't know why you find this combination so hard to fathom. It's not an either/or situation.
Yes science can be boring but it happens to be the best tool we have for discovering truths. Faith and belief are not pathways to truth.
Then you're a moron (not you, people who have faith in science). Like I said faith is believing something for no good reason. I don't have faith in science, I just know that it's the best tool we have for discovering what is true and what isn't. I have reasonable expectations that the guys who perform the science know what they're talking about, not in faith, it's just obvious. You don't get to become a well respected member of the scientific community by not knowing your field
