Amazon Prime shipping issues

  1. My royal mail guy is pretty good, although I could have sworn they used to deliver before 9. It's before 11 nowadays.

Never had anything thrown to the seagulls.

  2. They lost me a book, you know. THE DEVILS. Amazon customer support were great though - extra month of prime for free and another copy sent out. Whatever happened to the original though? Lost, forever. Like tears in the rain.

  3. Ordered an item from Prime yesterday (£79 per year) for one day delivery and although it said out for delivery from 8am it hasnt turned up.

One of my rants at CS and got prime extended by another 30 days for free. That will cover Christmas this year as mine renews in November so can cancel after and still benefit.

  4. I made another complaint. In the UK prime is supposed to be next day but when I ordered some filters it said 2 days. I complained to CS and they said that as it was coming from Europe they couldn't guarentee one day. I pointed out that this wasn't mentioned when I handed them £80 so I got ANOTHER 30 day extension.

In the past 2 weeks I have been given another 2 months free.

  5. Why would they need to mention that Europe isn't considered part of the UK?

  6. They don't mention when selling prime that if it comes from a European warehouse you get 2 day delivery, its all advertised as 1 day.

Apparently its a tiny % of stock that isn't stored in UK but I paid and I want my 1 day.

Amazon are greedy tax dodgers with questionable working conditions inside their warehouses. I am gonna take every opportunity to get free stuff from them that I can.

  7. Amazon has always lost huge amounts of money on Prime shipping, so you're not accomplishing much.

  8. Yeah I am, I'm getting it for free instead of having to pay £80 renewal.

  9. Right. But Amazon doesn't actually care if they lose money on Prime shipping. They intentionally set it up as a loss leader that would crush competitors.

  10. You got an Prime extension because the mail carrier didn't deliver on time? We would've gotten a fuck you and have a nice day.

  11. In this case it was Amazon's own courier, Amazon Logistics.

Besides, I entered a contract with Amazon to guarantee one day delivery, not my fault if a courier doesn't deliver, they should make sure they use better couriers. They break their end of the contract then they have to compensate me.

  12. lol you seem like someone that would be tased by cops a lot in the US

  13. Amazon logistics are less than an hour away from missing another 5pm delivery deadline (business premises) and this is on the item that was 2 day delivery.

I can feel another chat to CS coming on...

  14. We've started getting Amazon packages on Sunday now. I saw a news blurb that the US Post Office was starting to deliver Amazon on Sunday but only in a few towns and no mention of ours.

  15. We get Amazon and Prime delivery on a Sunday, have done for a long time. Not that it matters, it's a shit service 99% of the time.

  16. I got a Sunday delivery of a Toshiba external HDD recently, but it wasn't done by USPS.

  17. Freaking-a. I ordered a 150 pound package and they shipped me the wrong item. Now I'm trying to box this crap up. I'm going to wrap it in packaging tape make UPS come to the house and pick it up.

  18. It's a good time to be an Amazon Prime subscriber if you're interested in video games: The service now offers Prime members a 20 percent discount on all pre-orders and new releases, Amazon announced today.

Amazon defines the "new release" window as the first two weeks after a game's launch. The deal is valid for physical copies, including special editions, but doesn't apply to packages such as console bundles. Customers won't see the discount — which takes 20 percent off the list price, not off any existing sale price — until checkout. Amazon is applying the deal to all existing Prime member pre-orders.

  19. It's only good if you're some primitive human being living in the age of physical copies.

  20. Console peasants living in the dark ages of physical copies massively overpay for games. This at least gets them a little closer to the pricing we have on Steam and other digital distribution services. Totally meaningless to the master race since we stopped dealing with physical copies of games a decade ago.
