So within the last month both my iPhone 6 and my Wife's iPhone 5 have been experiencing high pitch screeches during calls. It's not often. Maybe once a day/hour. I'd blame the carrier but I have Verizon and she has AT&T. Seems odd. Could this be from an IOS update?
I've heard of this, but I don't think it's specific to any platform. There seem to be a wide variety of opinions on what causes it and what the solution is. If you're using a case, try removing that first and seeing if it makes a difference. There seem to be a lot of people that think it's related to using certain brands of phone cases.
Preordered the new Apple TV today…32 GB version. Looks like you can still get $75 - $80 for the 2nd gen on EBay, so that might be where the old one is headed.
Why so much for a 2nd gen? Adorama has the 3rd gen for $50 right now. http://www.adorama.com/ACAPPLETV2.html?utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_source=rflaid62905&cvosrc=affiliate.62905
Fringe benefit of the new Apple TV purchase: the tvOS version of Oceanhorn will be available right off the bat and free if you already own it for iPhone/iPad...full HD and 60 fps.
Do you guys pay for iCloud? I've used to get by on 5GB by dragging pics to my phone... but the new phones always spaz when I connect by USB. Also, everyday I feel lazier than the day before.
I've been content with Google photos backup. the photo resize doesn't bother me too much as its still respectable. I guess you're gonna have to decide on that tradeoff
I have 115GB on Google drive. 15GB free and 100GB free for 2 years. However I mostly use my 2GB Dropbox account because it's so easy to use. If you need to keep pictures in their original size you can use Flickr. They give you a whopping 1TB for free with adds but you also need a yahoo account. I'm probably at 10GB and have never seen an add so I don't know whats up with that. Sharing can be a bit complicated.
Do you guys restore from iCloud across devices or set each up as new? I know it isn't exactly comparible but Is there any performance benefit to a 'clean install' vs restore?
There are certainly a lot of people that swear by 'clean install' as the best method. My full backup is on my home desktop though, so I usually set up new devices from that rather than iCloud. Faster. iCloud is more the emergency backup for me.
The front camera on my iPhone 6 is acting wonky. When I activate it I mostly get a frozen fuzzy picture then the app switches to back camera. Sometimes it will start flickering the back camera like it's taking photos and then suddenly show a picture from the front camera. The phone also lags like heck when I try to use the front camera.
AAPL saw a decline in earnings for the first time in 15 years... analysts attribute it to weaker iPhone sales in a saturated market. The phone makes up a bulk of their revenue/profits. They've stopped giving sales/shipped numbers by model this year, so there is further rumors the 7 is not doing well and is being outsold by the 6s. I actually picked up shares on early rumors dip in Sept. around $104-ish, Actually expected sales would blowout expectations and historically, it's been a bad idea to bet against them. Even though they missed, they are gonna blow through their cash reserves on buybacks and dividends. The stock should shoot up nicely in the short run.
Not according to their conference call. They can barely keep up with demand for the 7. On a side note: the AirPods have been delayed! Nooooooooooooo.....
