Still not worth the price it is selling for at the moment. I will stick with my 3GS until the 4S get's cheap.
Selling on Ebay for around £250-£350 so still very expensive for me. I picked up my 3GS for £112 a few months back.
Ah, you're using the second hand market price. Iphones retain their value a lot better than other devices in the second hand market. You may expect to end up getting 2-3 generations behind much like your current situation. So another 2-3 years.
I'm not willing to spend that much on just a phone. It would be better to put towards a console like the Wii-U.
Yeah, but why would I need to upgrade two generations up on an Iphone for £500+ when my 3GS does what I need. Not saying I wouldnt upgrade, I am just not willing to lose that kind of cash when I can put it towards something else. Anyone actually got the I5 yet?
It looks like anand was able to get some performance tests in before doing a full review. As expected, the Apple A6 tears everything apart in the performance. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6324/the-iphone-5-performance-preview
The prices the big 4 carriers still charge for anew 3GS/4/4S on two year contracts are still crazy. Either Apple charge a fortune for the older models or the carriers are greedy.
I'm not sure what Apple does in the UK, but every generation since the Iphone 4 launch, Apple kept it's previous generation device and dropped the price of it in half, and they do this officially so all carriers follow suit. So when they launched the Iphone 4, they dropped the 3GS price to $99. When Iphone 4S Launched, they dropped iphone 4 to $99. When iphone 5 launched, they dropped 4S to $99 and I think they're dumping iphone 4 stock for 99 cents now.
4s: $99 = £61 Yeah I wish it was like that over here. This country loves to sell everything at high prices.
24 month contract on O2. 300 minutes Unlimited text 500MB data. £32/month 3GS refurbished 16GB: £59.99 4 8GB: £49.99 4S 16GB :£169.99 For reference same tariff but only £27/month. Galaxy SIII : £169 Galaxy SII: Free Why anyone would buy an old iPhone from the big 4 I have no idea. More expensive both in the first place and monthly. Direct from apple new 4: £319 4S: £449 5: £529 A lot of money for both the new and old phones. Also before directly comparing with US remember the priced include 20% tax which is way higher than you pay.
Just for comparison, a 16GB iPhone 5 on the cheapest two year contract plan with Sprint in the U.S. would cost a total of $2120, while the cheapest 16GB iPhone 4S pay-go on Virgin Mobile in the U.S. (Sprint's network) would currently cost you $1320 over two years. Those are both unlimited data plans. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for the iPhone 5 to show up as pay-go on Virgin.

My mum was pissed off over the weekend as she found out that for some reason the iPhone 5 she paid for last week could take up to 31 days to arrive. As soon as it does I get her iPhone 4S, which is nice.
Gorilla gondola, velocispider, and breakeroids are not free for me right now. I did get victory march and don't run with a plasma sword or free though.
