He is overthinking. mechanical hdd's are blaa to choose from now. Kind of like purchasing a cd/dvd burner. close your eyes and grab one.
Why would you use a mechanical hard drive as a boot drive in 2015? How can you tolerate how slow that shit is? 500GB Samsung 850 EVO: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-Inch-Internal-MZ-75E500B-AM/dp/B00OBRE5UE/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1435917668&sr=1-3&keywords=ssd
I think 2 things. People don't realize how big of a change it is. There's two types of upgrades you can do that you will notice instantly. SSD and a display upgrade. But I think it arma's case, since he does alot of video editing, he needs storage space more than anything. In which case, he can get a small ssd and a large portable hdd.
I'm getting rid of 2 old PCs; one from 2000, one from 2005. I've removed the HDDs but is it worth keeping the graphic cards? Didn't know if those tend to be collectable or retain some value
creative is still alive and well though. hell their sound blaster series have gotten so huge, they release things like the sound blaster x7 that's $400. 3DFX on the other hand died, along with their voodoo cards. So that may be why there's collectible value to them.
So about a week ago I woke my PC up from sleep and the screen was flashing blocks of colors like it was trying to reset to the desktop image but couldn't. Now about every other time I boot it does the same thing. It happens on both display port and HDMI. I wonder if my graphics card is pooping out or if it's some kind of Windows/Nvidia driver issue.
I keep having an issue where my computer will revert to 640x480 on the main display. It happens after a reboot or resume from sleep, but not every time. I never had this issue in Windows 7. It started after I upgraded to 10. When I unplug the displayport cable and plug it back in it immediately fixes the issue and the monitor returns to 1920x1200. It's annoying enough that I'm thinking of clean installing Windows 10 to see if it resolves it.
What chargers do you guys buy? I bought a stack of Amazon Basic Apple cables... the cables are fine, but the generic square thing that goes into the wall won't charge my iPad...
Best bet for an iPad is a 12W charger. It will charge with a lower watt device, but it's going to be very slow.
you can't really use cheap usb chargers with Apple devices as they're a bit stricter with what will charge them. I've used oem chargers that charge fine though. samsung and hp chargers worked.
I got like 3 Aukey chargers with AiPower Adaptive Charging ports. It figures out if an Android or Apple device is connected and delivers the correct power.
I actually thought I was getting OEM end points. I bought some Apple and Samsung, but I think 100% of them are counterfeit. This is apparently a fairly common occurrence with 'fulfilled by Amazon'. Just trying to figure out what/if to load up on Prime Day.
Weird. I've never had trouble charging my Apple devices. Even cheap USB chargers from Monoprice have worked fine. That must be some seriously janky Chinese offbrand stuff you got there.
They gave me a 20% coupon to their warehouse as a pre-prime day gift. I thought about buying a lens and then waited to long and it was gone. From what I've read warehouse stuff is iffy.
