It is also important to note that Lilith's Phasewalk has been replaced by Maya's PhaseLOCK. Phaselock evidently freezes an enemy, which sounds pretty weaksauce compared to Lilith's power. But of course we don't know everything about this power. Regarding Brick from the original game, I found he was most effective by maxing shield and health perks and using weapons that cause explosive elemental damage. I was always on the lookout for blast shotguns and the like. Also, sniper rifles seem to work reasonably well for every class, so an explosive sniper rifle wasn't a bad choice for him as a backup weapon. One of the key problems with Brick is that launchers sucked because they can't do critical damage. Other weapons would far outdamage them. It would have been easy enough to correct by simply improving damage output, but Gearbox never did anything about it.
Which character is supposed to have the best perks for boosting driving skills? That would be perfect for monsly. He drove us off bridges to our deaths a bit too frequently in the General Knoxx DLC.
There were some incredible combat rifles late in the game, but the big problem is that they were so incredibly rare. Something along the lines of these weapons could have taken care of business for you with Roland: Also, Roland has some important, unique abilities that shouldn't be underestimated. Some of his perks and class mods are fantastic, especially the group effects for a team. Roland isn't as strong with just pure attacking power as Lilith, but there are other aspects of his character that are terrific.
Some new videos about, a bit of a walkthrough video with the new siren here. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/maya-walkthrough-borderlands-2/730003
Still on the fence about this one. Me and my mates had an absolute blast on the first one but around half way through our second play through our interest sort of fizzled out. We didn't even bother with the dlc, well, one of us did and he was a bit miffed to find out we weren't getting it too.
I got all of the DLC when I repurchased the game during the Steam sale of the GOTY pack. Zombie Island was very well done. It had a few challenging parts. Mad Moxxi's Underdome was actually fun too, considering it was only an arena. Claptrap's Revolution was loooooooong. I suppose on one hand, that's what you would like from a DLC, but this one felt too drawn out. There's one left that my friends and I haven't gotten around to yet.. Secret Armory of General Knoxx. This one seems like the most expansive one as there's new vehicles.
I guess since Borderlands 2 is out I should maybe unwrap my Borderlands 1 before they take the servers down or something. Anybody still playing?
Re: Re: Borderlands 2 We should know, we've been counting down the days until this decent online coop drought ends
Re: Re: Re: Borderlands 2 my friends and I picked magicka back up and it's been pretty entertaining. it's a lot longer than I expected. It should keep us busy for another 2 weeks since we grabbed all the dlc too. Then just a little wait for borderlands 2 after that.
So this game bumped up the difficulty quite a bit. But it could be a few things. I jumped directly into the game right after I installed it into a 3 player coop game so the enemies went into beast mode early. We probably died like 15 times during one of the early boss encounters. There's a ton of customizations in the game. It also looks like the soldier is a full combat character now. The siren gets the medic style abilities instead.
