Speaking of celebrities and hard drugs, looks like all of the crack and coke finally caught up with Whitney Houston. Stay away from hard drugs kids. http://www.cnn.com/2012/02/11/showbiz/whitney-houston-dead/index.html?hpt=hp_t1
I don't mean to sound insensitive or anything but that picture made me chuckle for a sec as it made it look like Whitney died in Saudi Arabia.
I am surprised Lohan is still alive. She must have used massive amounts of meth to alter her appearance that much. With tolerance and high doses, meth addicts tend to experience psychotic symptoms that are very similar to symptoms of schizophrenia. She also has displayed hallmark symptoms of borderline personality disorder, which means she will always gravitate towards conflict and chaos and probably never comply with treatment. Trainwreck.
Reddit banned a bunch of subforums that were hosting child porn. Pretty gross that kind of stuff was going on just beneath the surface on such a popular site. There were some rape related forums too where people were bragging about their rape conquests, but I'm sure if those got banned too. http://www.reddit.com/r/blog/comments/pmj7f/a_necessary_change_in_policy/ These subforums had delightful names like...
not surprising since the users had free reign on subreddits. there's some pretty obscure ones. you could be a user there for like 50yrs and never know they exist. reddit is just a gentleman's 4chan. Sent from Your Mom
I really just look at the stuff on the main page of reddit, so I had no idea. They were talking about it quite a bit over at somethingawful and the stuff in those subforums was extremely creepy. Like someone needs to contact law enforcement because dudes are bragging about molesting their kids kind of creepy.
Tried to get out of the front door and couldn't get more than 1 minute away before the pain got unbearable. Not had any shoes on all weekend so didn't realise how much this was still going to hurt. Also a bit surprised seeing as I had the accident on Thursday but my foot is still pretty purple in places. The right hand side still hurts a lot and I am pretty much walking exclusively on the left so it still isn't right but I don't really want to take any more sick days. Waiting for work to call me back, will leave it up to them as to whether they want to pay for cabs both ways. Think I could sit at my desk all day but not much else, if the pain continues a few more days I might have to consider getting an x-ray I suppose.
Go to the app store and in the top 25 apps you'll see "lep's world plus". Scroll down to the pictures an you'll see that it's almost a carbon copy of the original super mario brothers, how have they not been sued yet?
Although it was an accident at work it is still sick so it has ruined my sick record of 1 day off in 25 months!. Now I am up to 2.5 days in 26 months, not happy but didn't want it to get any worse so I had to come in. We have people here who just don't care and every year take 8+ days sick without fail but I feel guilty even when I am ill. I came into work before christmas with flu like symptoms and ended up with a throat infection that took 3 different types of anti biotics to shift after a month. A little bit of illness never keeps me down and ANYONE who takes a day off with a cold should be sacked!
I knew a co-worker who would want to take a sick day as a day off. But he stressed about cheating the system so much he'd end up sick on his fake sick day.
We can't take sick days. We could have a zombie apocalypse going on outside and we'd be expected in for work. One of my co-workers took a day off for his grandmothers funeral and they actually phoned him in the afternoon and asked why he needed the full day off and if he could (see, told him he must), come back in for the afternoon. That however is the major problem with working in this industry; employers know people want these jobs so generally take liberties with things like your rights and entitlements to holidays, paid overtime and salary. We've got guys who come in to work in the QA department who pretty much work for FREE thinking it's a step on the career ladder. That said, one of them just got a job as an assistant producer which is pretty nice (shit money still though)
I guess it's like any job; love and hate in equal measure. I like the majority of the people I work with and I've met a lot of people who've gone on to work at some great places and they always give me some great info. I also get some nice exposure to new info myself. I am also being invited to go to another office (abroad) to do 4 months of work on a game which is pretty fucking huge (massive franchise) but I just can't leave here for that amount of time; simply too many commitments
my friend worked as a QA tester for a game. It paid like $0 and was overnights. They pointed out flaws to the developers coming in to work days. He thought he would get a job out of it but didnt. he got on the credits of some games.
I went in front of a magistrate on saturday for that stupid ticket. Got someone who was actually a decent person who agreed it was BS and slashed the price of the ticket down to practically nothing so I basically just owed some court costs. I ended up paying about half of what I would have otherwise. I decided that was fine because I didn't want to waste any more time or money on the thing. I think if I get a ticket in the future I'll be pleading not guilty and doing the magistrate thing. It seems like if you have a clean record and can argue effectively you get a much better deal than just paying the ticket.
