That would be Grandia 2. The first console it was on before it was also ported to the Playstation 2. The original Grandia was actually originally on the Sega Saturn before it got ported to the PS1.
Graphics card isnt much of a need, its the CPU that matters mostly for pcsx2. If you want HD resolutions and smooth framerates, you need a fast dual core (like the E8400), or a fast quad core. Its really worth it, if youve got the setup for it, a PS2 or PS3 pad hooked up, and the right config, you can play all your PS2 games in higher resolution, higher frame rates, faster load times, and some AA options. You can play from any region aswel since you can swap to another BIOS and you can use kb/mouse for the FPS's.
Once I get what I need to run PS2, Gamecube and Dreamcast emulation fine. Grandia 3 and most probably Shenmue are first on the list. I have a xbox pad I use for playing games so that is not a problem.
I can send you my pcsx2 emulator fully configged when ya got the right pc (works 100% on my pc). (didnt work for Armadeadn, for some reason). Ive Grandia 3 PS2 aswel, along 250+ other PS2 Images....
Once I get the parts I need that would be appreciated. The Iso's I would be able to do myself though. I doubt it would be hard to set up emulation myself though. I have been running a PSX and Consoles below it with ease, and I hacked my old PSP for PS1 games with ease too. What PC specs do you have to run this emulator at full speed with no problems?
My main is a i7 920 (stock speeds), 6GB DDR3, GTX275, and a 30'' Dell. But emulation did as fine on a E8400 with a HD3450 (very slow card). Then it ran flawlessly on my brothers pc which is a Q9450 with a Ati card in the same range. Aslong its more then one core and fast, you shouldnt have any trouble, once pcsx2 is rightly configuired. Regarding the configuiring, no shouldnt be a problem, i could just send my config, which should run straight away smooth, since its all up to the CPU, some tweaking out yourself should do the job. Powerfull pc's these days really have no trouble anymore emulating the PS2 and all of its games. Took awhile though, cause of the complexity of the EE and the structure of it. Iso's arent a problem no, but some games are hard to find, and most are ripped (cut out audio tracks, cut scenes etc). Would ya need a iso you cant find, am having it all at my FTP w 120/120 conn... Am not saying anything illigal here, just talkin' about some iso's and some backup BIOS'es
Probably 'cause I have a laptop. Not a fancy pc. I guess the average laptop wasn't made with ps2 emulators in mind
I managed to get my now dead laptop doing between 35-40FPS with epsxe2 without too much in the way of problems, still 10FPS too slow for full speed PAL games but it really was nothing special at all with a cheap nVidia GPU. If I could have been bothered to get it running properly I probably could have had it running a bit better as you see from this screen shot I was only using 33% CPU time.
Depends on what kind of laptop, if it contains a fast Dual Core, something like a Wolfdale @ 3Ghz, it shouldnt be a problem. But in your case, it probally wasnt fast enough
What are your settings? That you wont get your 60FPS have to do with some settings. Take a look at the speedhack tab, and bump it up, didnt give problems here, played MGS3 from begin till end, without a single hitch or glitch. If your intrested in my config, give a scream.
The GPU in that laptop melted a long time ago just using a desktop at the minute which has no problems. Was just pointing out that a laptop can do it if you get it set up right.
It would have been 3 years old now but as I say the GPU died and its sitting in the bottom of a cupboard as I haven't bothered with getting rid of it. Its been a paper weight for over a year now. No I am out tonight.
Well one of us has got to get out of the house at least once a week and seeing as neither yourself nor Monsly seem to want to do it then it will have to be me.
I am going to see Paul at the cinema so all I can offer you is massively overpriced popcorn or a £7 hot dog.
