I didn't say G.W. Bush was fanatical. I'm saying that many of the people who voted for him are. I notice that a lot of Christians talk about how god hates this and god hates that. I don't recall Jesus doing a lot of ranting about which activities or groups of people he hates. He treated pariahs and the chronically ill better than anyone else, usually finding ways to help them and heal them. The main group he indicated that he disliked are greedy, wealthy people. Strangely, Jesus brings up the poor 407 times and spent quite a bit of time focusing on helping them. I don't recall him saying much about the evils of being gay. Do you suppose one may draw any rational conclusions about why he thought helping the poor was worth talking about all the time but being gay wasn't really worth mentioning?
Simply take a moment and start asking yourslef questions like this and hopefully you'll begin to realise that it really doens't make sense, at all. And even if God did exist, he goes by the "worship me and only me or I'll fuck you up!", worship out of fear (which is what all worship is surely, to avoid going to hell right?). Someone asked me once regarding religion "What if you're wrong?", I simply replied "If I'm wrong I'm going to hell, but since I don't believe such a place exists I dont think I'll worry too much about it ROFL."
A lot of Christians voted for Bush ... but than a lot of Christians voted for Obama too... Christians are but sheep... dumb. that being said, God doesn't hate out of spite (or preconceptions). God certainly doesn't want to hate, He only hates the actions brought forth by ppl hating on him. Christians are only told to love, leave the hate (and judgement) to God. The Bible mainly just outlines the love part cuz hatred just isn't viable to the Christian. If there are any other confusing points I'll be happy to take a stab at it for you.
The overwhelming majority of the US identifies as Christian, so yes, many Christians voted for Obama. However, the fire and brimstone fundamentalist extremist Christians overwhelmingly vote for candidates like Bush. I do not consider all Christians to be similar to that lunatic pastor in the video, but I also will say just about everyone with that mentality voted for G.W. Bush. I am very aware of the wrathful god of the Old Testament. I was referring primarily to right wing Protestants in the US, who usually claim they primarily follow the New Testament. However, I see little evidence of this from their behavior. I do agree that it seems clear enough that Christians are supposed to leave judgment to a higher power. I wish they would start doing that. I see quite the opposite from most of the people in the Midwestern US, where I live. Finally, I would assume this was clear enough, but just in case, I'll explicitly clarify that my problem is not with Christianity or Christians in general. My issue is with fundamentalist zealots like the nutcase in the video who use Christianity as a tool for hatred and oppression of certain groups, as well as anyone from any religion who uses their faith as a weapon for discrimination or oppression.
So Christians basically project all of their own hatred and bigotry onto this imaginary god character to try to make it okay in their minds? That's incredibly dysfunctional. "I don't hate you faggot, god does!" It's like Christians are talking through a hand puppet.
Doesn't the Bible promote bigotry? Punishing people because they're different? (Gay, single, seriously, I ROFL'd my ass off when you said God hates single people) Food for thought: Matt Dillahunty speaks more sense than I've ever heard anyone speak about anything... ever. Part 1 of 2 Part 2 of 2 That is all.
I watch that show pretty regularly. I am not nearly as "anti-theist" as they tend to be, but I am frequently challenged in that respect living where I do. I am so sick of the hatred and bigotry I see every day from Christians where I live. I'll probably eventually have to move to a coastal area to retain my sanity. It's really getting difficult to tolerate anymore.
Just know that you're better than they are (but don't tell them obviously) because you live in reality. Or you could come to the UK. Most people here are either atheists or don't think about that sort of thing. Sure there's a church in pretty much all the little villages but you don't see many (if any) radical fundamentalist nut jobs like you guys seem to have to put up with.
will get back to ya later, got no time to sit here for hours right now :/ "Just know that you're better than they are" I could look up bigotry but I'm pretty sure that's EXACTLY what it is.
Buying a new PC this morning for a family member. i3 2120 6GB with HD2000 graphics or A6-3620 4GB with HD 6520 graphics? i3 is better by about 30% but the 6520 is about 2.5 times faster than the HD 2000.
Do they play games? If not, go for the i3. They'll get more out of a faster CPU and more ram than a faster GPU.
My Nephew does but he's moving out in 3 months to go to college. On the other the hand most complex thing this PC will do is web browse. I guess it comes down to graphics or CPU. I hope Costco only has one or the other. That will make it easy. The AMD is $400 the Intel $430. Both are HP.
as much as I hate to admit it I do think my E350 bogs down my facebook games. If all it's mainly gonna be used for is solitair I'd look into the i3. A few other things to think about, if possible they really SHOULD get it from HP's web store, they always have a ton of coupons available that can get you a good deal. I hear Intel procs run hot, in any case the E350 (and probably the E450) is an icebox! This makes a sleek Intel laptop a bit less reliable.
Costco has good warranties and good return policies in my experience though. They'll take practically anything back if it doesn't work. I've heard of people returning stuff a year or two later when it broke and they still took it back and gave a refund. Pretty sure that's why bfun wants to buy it there. You may as well if you have a membership. Your yearly fee is so you get that kind of service.
Sod playing it in a browser, it free on the app store temporarily. Well it was yesterday when I got it.
