  1. I can't stand the national media, fair and balanced... Right. Fair and balanced if it aligns with your own bias maybe.

  2. Just got a text from a friend saying he is going to pay for us all to go to a gig for his stag night. Haven't been to a gig in 5+ years so told the others to pick one.

Just hope they don't pick anything too crazy. I think there is a point where you get too old to go to metal gigs and I already feel like I am past it.

Ohh yeeeaaahh. Unfortunately it's only for 2 years.

  4. Whats that?

  5. That's dropbox. Cloud storage.

  6. @Chi

You only did that because you was jealous of my 25GB. Now I need to find a way to surpass you without spending any money.

  7. make bunch of fake emails and refer yourself? that's assuming you didn't get the 25GB that way already

  8. Microsoft Skydrive gave me 25GB for clicking a link. It doesn't have a timelimit, but I suppose they could scale it back if they really wanted. The Skydrive app has been the easiest way to transfer files between my iPhone and PC, since I can't do drag and drop.

  9. Indeed I was jealous. Fortunately I had a friend who'd just gotten a Samsung Galaxy SIII and they don't use dropbox so I snagged it.

I also have 50gb storage on Box when they did the "install box on your iphone" thing. Never used it though.

@Khaid Dropbox won't let you refer yourself with a bunch of fake email accounts from the same computer. It's got to be a unique PC for each one. Not sure how they work the magic though.

  10. As Monsly mentioned it in another thread we may as well bring up just how bad the weather has been here. We had a dry 2 years and everywhere was in drought and then it doesn't stop raining for 3 months! The forecasts for July are showing nothing but rain for the next 10 days as well.

The wettest Apr-Jun on record. I know we needed it but by the looks of things the reservoirs and rivers are all full again, so much so that parts of the country have had terrible flooding, so it would be nice to have some sunshine now.

Apparently the Jet Stream is in the wrong place to the south of us which is why it is so wet, I can't remember a summer this bad ever. I think part of the problem is that we had those really hot summers for most of the 00's and everyone expects the same. I don't remember the 80's or 90's summers being that hot over and over again so maybe we are going back to a more normal pattern as the last 2 or 3 have been poor. Saying that I did read somewhere online that the Sun may be entering an inactive cycle which could mean an extended period of the type of weather we have had over the past few years, cold/snowy winters and damp/cool summers. Very few sunspots on the sun apparently compared to what there should be.

I saw that the US is going through some kind of mental heat wave with wild fires but when they showed the jet stream it was really far north which apparently explains some of it.

We are past the solstice, the days are starting to get shorter and before we know it we will be back into Autumn, may be the shortest summer ever IF it ever turns up. Also anyone else notice some tree's dropping leaves already? I think they are a bit confused by all the cold weather and rain.

  11. I didn't know you got trees down your alley.

Weather's been poo, looks like my birthday barbecue is going to actually be a traditional British barbecue this year

There's 1.1 million people in 11 states without power right now in this heat. This is actually considered cooling down right now cuz it was hotter last week.

  13. That looks pretty crazy indeed - fair few above 100 I see. Fuck that.

  14. Every year it seems we have the hottest this and the wettest that. The weather seems to be continually breaking records.

  15. gotta love Oregon now seriously didn't know how lucky I was hhahahahah suckers

  16. I live in the North so I don't have to deal with this horrible heat. Some desert areas are cooler than here right now, and with no humidity.

  17. Just seen some of the images of more flooding in many areas on the news. Weather people saying that it doesn't look like the jet stream is going to move north any time soon and expect July to be a wash out.

If it is that will be 4 months of constant rain, all the panic of the drought in March and then it rains non-stop from the start of April.

Don't know who has it worse, us with our mental amounts of rain and floods or the Americans and the extreme heat.

  18. The Americans. At least we can stay toasty warm and dry in our own homes whereas they cannot get away from the heat.

  19. Not if your home is full of water. Insurers are going yo be forking out a lot of money in coming weeks/months.

All Americans have air conditioning, the energy suppliers must be loving it.
