I wouldn't try to strangle that guy. He looks liable to pull out a stanley knife and slash my neck if I made a move.
The Olympic torch is going past my office today at around noon I think but I don't think I will even bother standing at one of the upstairs windows to watch. I imagine the streets outside will be packed, already loads of police and people in yellow coats milling about. I know Patrick Stewart is doing part of the route here but think it is further down the line, no idea who is going past the office, probably some nobody. If it was Stewart I may have been interested. Having looked at the map he will be probably be picking up only a few minute or so after it goes past to get to the school for lunch. Knowing my luck he will be the one after the one that goes past my office, a little bit annoying but what can you do. Also the weather has changed a bit, nearly 4 months of solid rain and all of a sudden this week its meant to be nearly 30 degrees every day. Not sure if this is a blip as all the long range forecast seems to say the colder/wetter conditions returning at the weekend. Not sure if the jet stream has moved as they still showed it being south on the country tracks week forecast yesterday and didn't mention it having going north. They could have just been showing what it was doing and assumed we realised it has gone north with the high pressure moving in as it normally would have done over the past few months. Last week I remember walking home from work feeling cold and wet, this week I am likely to be baking hot. I had to walk on the other side of the road this morning to avoid the sun!
The weather is amazing down here; really sunny but not too hot. It's like we're actually having summer weather for a change.
I assume your working your notice and not actually finished at your old place yet so like me can't really enjoy it at the moment? I have a week booked off in August, will probably be back to the cold and rain by then.
Working my notice now - 3 weeks left as I've got leave to take. Hopefully I'll have a bit of summer still.
I set my alarm from the wrong time and was too late to go work this morning. I was told one of my bosses was kicking off about it at work to a friend. I hope he doesnt go crazy when im back on Thursday otherwise I will kick off myself because he is a prick. 1st time ive had any time off or missed work since the start of the season too.
Caravan cleaning and also being a handy man for another business on the part. Boring work that makes you want to end your life. It's an income though.
I worked at McDonalds for a couple of months when I left school. The free food was ok but fucking cleaning down every night was a chore. We got to take any food left in the bin (the part where they keep the food hot ready to serve behind the counter) home with us after closing as you obviously couldn't keep them for the next day. Needless to say I used to "accidentally" cook too many big macs on occasion just before closing
I once had a job that eventually boiled down to hand polishing pre cut Mini Cooper badges, for 9 hours a day. I use that as the benchmark for my boredom scale. Polishing Mini badges = 10 on the scale whereas playing Skyrim for the first time is a 1.
As a med student, I had to do a lot of scut work. I once had to do a rectal and fecal occult blood exam on a belligerent HIV patient with massive scrotal edema. In laymen's terms, he was a huge, angry black man known to be combative with medical staff with HIV and MASSIVE BALLS the size of soccer balls due to liver failure. Needless to say, I triple gloved.
