I just replaced my laptop kb, they can be quite easy to do. But it's unlike most desktop maintnence I do I suggest you look up a video on youtube or something first. But it really won't take more than half an hour. Don't pay a shop to do it. but if your mobo is screwed well... than your fucked.
An hour? For a keyboard? It should take minutes. Usually held on by 2 screws hidden under plastic strip above keyboard and then remove data cable.
well the first time it might take you a bit but by the time you know what your doing it can be done in your sleep. no reason to hire a shop to do it.
Has the US had any rain yet? Haven't seen anything on the news about your drought and crops failing for a couple of weeks. We finally had some heat after 3 1/2 months of near constant rain but still getting rain every now and then.
only on tv (the olympics) nah I can't speak for anywhere else but in the NW where it wasn't even hot up until just a few weeks ago, has been UNBEARABLY hot! I guess we're getting what the rest of the country got earlier :|
The laptop itself is working fine, its every damn key that is not working. I am using it as we speak. It's the keyboard. I just hope it's a quick and cheap fix.
Most laptop keyboards are a sealed unit now as they have to be easily replaced which means it is harder for liquids to get through to the board below. It really us easy to change a keyboard, one cable.
Sounds good. I have a Lenovo keypad which is quite sleek and doesnt make much noise as a PC keyboard. As long as it dont cost me around £100 to fix. As I wont be doing it myself of course.
If you have a set of jewelers screwdrivers you could even try replacing it yourself. It's not hard and takes about five minutes on most laptops. There's usually a panel above the keyboard that clicks into place, a few screws holding the keyboard down, and a cable that runs to the motherboard. A shop will probably charge you $100 for something you could have done yourself for $10.
I'm not man enough to do it myself. I would prefer a professional to check it over. I want them to check the touch pad out too just in case. Hopefully the cable needs replacing. I don't want to be waiting around for a week for a replacement to be sent and them to fix it. Fucking kids!!
my 'profesional' messed up my install so I had to do it myself. to each his own I guess. Never going to him again. Damn that's an old socket 7! if she can overclock that thing I might have to shut my door and rub one off x| j/p
So it looks like that ff7 PC re-release by square-enix is a clusterfuck of failure. That thing is loaded up on drm. Need internet connection to play and save your games. And you only have a 30 day period to download your purchase. You'll never be able to download it again after that unless you purchase it again.
No one smart enough would buy this in the first place. The PS1 and PSN versions are superior than it. The music midis for starters ruin this port.
