Cheers guys. Been a standard old man birthday. Boring, the girl I am seeing cooked me a meal and bought the new Newcastle shirt for me, and I went back to my mates to find a spray bottle had leaked all over my PSP. Bah. At least I completed KH: Birth By Sleep last night 100% before it happened.

First year results don't count towards your grade so they don't give you an overall grade just marks for each unit,I'd say I got a 2:2 overall. Not bad considering I put in next to no effort this year, will be stepping it up for here on out though.
I think most UK degrees work that way. You do need to pass though, and if you're borderline between classifications at the end then your 1st year marks can make a difference.
Huh, well I guess it wouldn't make much difference to how it is here in some degrees then, though many degrees (for example double degrees or ones where you get given a definite spot in honours) you need to keep up a higher average mark than a pass) must work differently to how they do over here.
I just bought something on Amazon, and noticed they are charging sales tax on me now. I've never been so sad in my life......
I read a story recently that some senator over there is trying to push through an online sales tax law, I suspect it won't be long before you have to pay tax on everything you buy online. If you have to pay tax in shops then it is only fair I guess that you pay them online. I suspect you are expected to declare things you purchased online and pay them at some point anyway but people are not bothering? It is easy enough to do, when you enter your billing address, they look at the state you live in, apply the correct amount of tax and once a month do a big transfer to said state. Completely automated and won't affect the time it takes to check out at all.
