  1. Markets for necessities like power, health, housing, and education have little incentive to "pass the savings" to customers. It's all about profit maximization these days, which seems good for the individual company and it's investors, but is ultimately bad news macroeconomically. Sucks too much money out of the economy.

  2. There are top loading HE washers as well. That's what I went with to avoid the door stink.

  3. Miele is awesome but cost 3 times as much here in the states as the UK. I tried to ship some Miele here from the UK but customs won't allow it.

  4. @ The English guys:

Do you guys know if gamestation hardware come with standard warranty? I am asking because I have two long black lines going down my 3DS bottom screen. It was one yesterday but a second one has appeared now and it is rather annoying.

  5. Was it new or second hand?

New always has 12 no the warranty.

Used they used to give 12 months on consoles but no idea now.

As it is only 2 weeks since you had it I am sure you should be covered either way as long as you have receipt. Call them tomorrow to check.

  6. I hear Haier is about king of laundry appliances now... but perhapse I was just looking at top loaders, front loaders are just too spendy for me atm.

edit: yep! as I thought, Haier is a cheap chinese manu with shitty CS but their stuff is top hat if you can decipher the manual and setup instructions.

  7. Whatever you do, don't get anything from Fisher & Paykel. Had one of their dishwashers in a house I was renting and it was the biggest piece of crap ever. The dishes would come out smelling like someone took a dump on them. I ended up handwashing everything. I'm not really sure how you screw up a dishwasher that badly. According to the Wikipedia page on them, their dishwashers are notoriously horrible. I'm pretty sure the guy who owned the place got it free or for next to nothing. He was a shady contractor.

  8. I ain't buying any big electricals built and designed in China, would be worried about my house burning down everytime I turned it on. I have no faith in Chinese companies and anything they produce.

I am actually starting to look for some new LED Christmas lights but wont use ebay as I am worried it will be some cheap Chinese crap that is going to explode. I know it's a bit early but I reckon they might be a bit cheaper now before demand kicks in.

  9. It's a brand new one. Had to be at £200 in any case. It's sprung a third line now. The ink must have leaked or something.

  10. Fisher & Paykel is the brand of choice of toilet slaves and slavers for kitchen appliances.

  11. Screw LED Christmas lights.

  12. thats how they plan to take over the world, one Christmas tree at a time!

  13. Aren't all Christmas lights made in China?

  14. Don't be silly, the best ones are made by the Father Christmas('s?) Elves.

  15. Isn't that just a euphamism for child labour?

  16. Well it worked for the Victorians so why can't it work now? Lazy little bastards need something to do to keep them off the streets anyway.
