hmm, i'm quite opposite of chi. I prefer my oysters raw.. and sometimes steamed depending how they're prepared. i'm not a big fan of fried seafood actually. there's only a handful of fried seafood i like.
I love Calamari but one time I ordered fried squid and got a mostly whole squid suckers and all. I did manage to choke it down. It tasted fine but I couldn’t look at it.
I only eat prawns, seafood is pretty horrid. The wife on the otherhand is always ordering the seafood choice on menus which usually also turns out to be the most expensive thing.
Does anyone here actually like seafood? And I don't consider fried seafood to be seafood. I find the average westerner to not like seafood.
Yes, very much so, although I rarely eat it now considering how polluted the ocean is now. Traces of radiation from the Fukushima meltdown have been found in North American waters. Also, I am well above average.
I absolutely love seafood, so much so that I even like Sashimi. Really torn on what's my favorite. Key West snapper is pretty awesome, but I also really like stone crab claws.
Ah, my hopes for mankind has been saved. I ate seafood while I was in Pensacola a few years ago, well in the period of the oil infested gulf of mexico. A little oil in the body never hurt anyone, aks. Might as well go all out and get a little radiation in the body. Can you imagine a lobster with 5 tails? Talk about getting your bang for the buck.
radiation mmmnnnnnmmm... I'm a raw seafood guy... but than again I'm Hawaiian I grew up on the stuff. Since I moved up here to 'white man's land' most of my seafood consists of riverfood and lakefood but it's still good.
Crustaceans; fine, stinky fish; no. I can eat fish cooked or raw, but it always has that horrible fishy taste that makes me want to chunder everywhere.
You guys are British so I'm guessing you've never had decent seafood. Fresh fish should never taste fishy. If fish tastes fishy, it's either spoiled or about to spoil. Living two blocks away from the ocean in an area that's known for seafood I'm probably pretty spoiled as far as access to good seafood. If I lived in a landlocked place like bfun or aks, I'd probably avoid seafood because you just know it's going to be low quality frozen crap. And I wouldn't touch seafood in Britain. I used to go fishing on the ocean with my stepdad, and fresh caught Mahi or tuna tastes so good I'd eat it practically raw. You just throw it on the grill for a moment and it tastes awesome. But I like sashimi so I would have no problem literally eating it raw. One of my favorite kinds of fish that's something I never seem to see outside of key west is hogfish. There's a place down there that makes hogfish sandwiches on fresh baked bread. It's literally one of the best sandwiches I've had. The fish is fresh and you can see them unload it right from the boat. They often run out though.
