  1. I just thought I had Deja vue.

  2. Nope. He also doesn't seem to understand that modern desktop PCs usually have HDMI out, so hooking one up to an HDTV is no big deal. No desk required.

  3. at about noon my Google Chrome kept giving me malware warnings on half the sites I visit so I thought something was up. I d/led malwarebytes (free), scanned and now everything is fine. Thanks Malwarebytes! Kinda' curious what douch-bug was in my system though... oh well cie-la-vis.

  4. I had Chrome hijacked about a year ago. It was an attack directed directly at the browser and basically tried to route me through proxy servers. The behavior seemed similar to what you saw.

  5. Snowpocalypse of 2-3 feet is predicted for New England tomorrow. Really hope the power doesn't go out...

  6. 2-3 feet? Six inches of snow nearly killed the south of England. Your days must surely be numbered.

  7. What part of New England do you live in alterego? Most of my relatives are in Vermont, and while that seems like a lot of snow to most people, I'm not sure it would really phase them. They're used to dealing with awful winters up there.

  8. @cmdrmonkey: Massachusetts. Boston metro area, to be more specific, so that's part of the reason it gets more hysterical. Huge amounts of traffic in/out. I don't have to drive to work, but I'm still not going to go in tomorrow.

@monsly: the blizzards in New England are sneaky. They have the tiniest snowflakes and it doesn't really accumulate that quickly so it can lull you into thinking it's no big deal. The problem is that it will just continually snow for almost 24 hours or more.

  9. My friend stays in the Boston area too. She told me they announced that the trains shut down at 3:30 tomorrow anyways. All the more reason to not get stranded out there.

  10. I heard the snow flakes in New England are actually the frozen tears of Tom Brady.

  11. Holy shit, I thought I had it bad with 8-12". I might stop into work just for goodwill, I'm expecting they will send people home by noon.

  12. It features a mix of frozen deer antler spray this year too.

  13. Aaaaaaaand.....it's still snowing. Haven't lost power yet, but apparently 400,000 in Massachusetts have.

  14. It stopped snowing, I estimate about 6-8" on the ground. The roads are already cleared and it's sunny out. Overall this went down smoothly. I heard they got 30" of snow about 40 miles east of me though. Sucks to be them.

  15. Close to 2 feet where I live. I may try to venture out on foot after lunch, but the wind chill is currently listed as -8 below.

  16. It's close to 3 degrees over here. Pretty shocking.

  17. meanwhile, the people of Florida are enjoying a nice 70F. they start Monday with a steamy 80F.

  18. Really looking forward to spring now, the cold is nice before Xmas but goes on too long afterwards.

It was getting warmer here but the wind started coming from the north again just over a week ago and the frost and snow gave returned.

  19. I went out for about 40 minutes. Even though there's a driving ban and the streets all have packed snow on them, I still saw a few people trying to drive their Prius around on the major streets and spinning about or getting stuck.

  20. Driving ban? Sounds like Obama is taking away your rights. You better go buy a gun.
