At the weekend decide to watch Shaun of the Dead as it is a good film and the third part in the trilogy is due in the cinema this year. Decide will watch Hot Fuzz next and find I have lost the DVD. Have a A-ha moment when I realise HMV are closing and so have a sale but they still want £7.50 for it! Go on ebay get the special edition DVD new and sealed for £2.99 including free delivery from an ebay store. No wonder these shops don't last, more expensive than online even when they are liquidating stock. I still buy DVD as I don't re-watch films often enough to justify the Blu Ray cost.
Nature documentaries should only be watched in HD now. My favourite is the Blue Planet episode of the deep sea, fantastic looking and fantastic animals.
I think my favourite nature documentaries are about insects, we need more of them. Sea creatures come next. I've noticed a lot of footage from Planet Earth has been reused in loads of recent nature docs.
Insect ones are good but a lot of them are old, the BBC ones anyway and don't have the PQ of the newer stuff. I don't like American documentaries as they go over the top and the narrators don't have the right voices.
Attenborough needs to make a new insect documentary. I haven't watched any American documentaries. I'm currently watching the penguin one narrated by David Tennant.
Yeah I would be very happy to see a new insect one, probably be worth him doing soon too as he is getting on a bit.
The Nature Documentary genre won't be the same when he's gone. Have you seen some of that Wonders of Life by Brian Cox? He's weird, something about him seems wrong...
I watched the first 2 and I have the other ones recorded. I really enjoyed his solar system and universe shows but I am currently unsure on the wildlife ones. He goes into a lot more scientific depth as to why things happen than any other wildlife documentary maker which is quite interesting. He is a little weird but then he is a physics professor and even worse he was in D-Ream.
Brian didn't play on their biggest hit which is this piece of shit.. Here is a bad clip of him performing it live with them last year.
You must have heard 'things can only get better' before, it was the theme tune to the labour landslide victory over the torries in the 90's, it started the long labour stint of Tony Blair.
I bought the all-region version of the BBC Video series "Life" on Blu-ray, which is narrated by Attenborough rather than friggin' Oprah. But I can not play it because it they used 50 Hz, which will not play on my PS3, my home theater Blu-ray player. I am not pleased about this.
That's a pain. I can't imagine how awful it would be having to listen to Oprah voice over a David Attenborough show.
Woo Hoo hot water. Now I just need to buy a torch of some type to removing the sweat soldered pipes. I tried butane but it wasn't hot enough.
Did you go with gas or electric? What brand? Did you go tankless? I hear gas tankless heaters are pretty awesome. You probably need something like an oxyacetylene torch to work on those pipes. I wouldn't know though. My father in law had a friend who did the sweating on our water heater pipes. It's not the kind of thing I would attempt myself.
