Just got Tales of Symphonia and Paper Mario 2(Gamecube games) running 99% perfect on my laptop. Happy days as I love these games and have not played them since I was 16. I wonder if my lappy could handle bigger games such as Mario Sunshine and Zelda...
@phisix It's crazy how powerful PC hardware has gotten in recent years. Even an "entry level" mobile Core i3 can do nearly perfect emulation.
The emulator projects usually have their own websites. For instance, zsnes: http://www.zsnes.com/ You can find ROMs on torrent sites. I know alterego is going to show up and give one of his fan favorite lectures about the evils of piracy, but it's pretty damn hard to find working cartridges for some of these older systems. ROMs are the only way for people to easily experience some of these old games.
Yeah. I've done snes and genesis stuff in the past. I didn't realize that you can do gc/ps2/xbox era stuff. Lots of stuff that gen I'd like to catch up with on the cheap and easy.
5 days in Japan. Barely a poop. It may be the low fibre diet or the trauma of having pressed the 'spray' button on the toilets.
Why would I do that? Statistically, piracy for gaming is largely centered around recent games with the highest quality ratings.
Gamecube emulation is about the max for my Laptop sadly. It is due to the integrated graphics. I can run Shadow Hearts 1(ps2) on low settings and it runs fine, but I tried Wild Arms 3(Ps2) a few weeks back and it just lagged like hell. It had so many jaggies and worse looking due to turning the filtering and the rest down to low. If I had an I7 with a dedicated graphics card I would be happier. I find it weird as I can run better looking PC games. Just to say, half the games I have emulated over the years have been games I have owned before. Once I get a more powerful set up one day I will move onto games I have never had a chance to play, say like grandia 3 and games like that. @SuperSonic: There are no original Xbox emulators yet. Dreamcast, PS2 and Gamecube are the highest they have gone thus far.
I'm making the rounds before my digestive system is too weak to handle it. Always wanted to visit and what better time than the middle of summer when my ass will be its sweatiest?
BBC channels are not working on my Grans or her neighbors freeviews. Anyone else from the UK getting this problem? Does not bother me but she has things she wants to watch tonight.
