It's not for dick roulette if that's what your wondering. I'm trying to figure out an easy way for Grandma/retired school teacher to watch my son do his handwritten homework. She needs to see the paper and he needs to see her face. I could put an iPhone on a stand but if the camera points towards the paper he can't see the screen. I was thinking FaceTime because it's rather simple and mobile as long as Grandma has iPad. I'd have to get her an old version 2 or something. Doing FaceTime on a laptop with a USB camera might be perfect if it works.
To this day I still don't see how people just let this slide. I always assume I missed some critical piece of information that explains why this isn't considered the greatest American military blunder of all time.
Yeah I don't get it either. Also American Sniper itself looks awful. Not sure why Clint Eastwood is glamorizing a murderious sociopath who reached that super high kill count mostly by shooting women and kids, and who also liked to brag about shooting Katrina victims. The real Chris Kyle was a thoroughly awful human being. A war criminal basically. It's also entirely unsurprising to me that his job when he returned to the states was running a company that trained American police to shoot first and ask questions later. There are no heroes in a war like the Iraq War. Just victims and villains. Chris Kyle is squarely in the Villain category. But then again judging by his conversation with an imaginary Obama in an empty chair last election, I'm pretty sure Clint Eastwood has lost his mind. So I guess we shouldn't be surprised when he makes a real life version of Nation's Pride.

Post-war Chris Kyle was a professional liar. Maybe he was suffering from PTSD and couldn't hold it together. There is no way his Katrina story is true, and the Texas gas station shooting is so ridiculous I'm embarrassed on his behalf. He made up punching Jesse Ventura, and also cheated the charity his book profits were supposed to help. All of this makes his field records questionable, imo. Confirmed kills just mean he and his spotter wrote it down, but his count was many magnitudes higher than other snipers in the area. Only 3 real possibilities: terrorists were respawning in front of him, he padded his count with things that didn't happen, or had a very loose terrorist/threat assessment. Chris Kyle was some dude who liked to spray the Punisher logo everywhere and was very good with a rifle. He is a hero to Corporate America and war profiteers, the general American public is not safer or any more free because of him. I was going to make an American Sniper thread, but chose against it given the hero worshiping of the military in this country.
I'm guessing based on what I've read that he had a very loose threat assessment. This was a guy who liked to brag about shooting women in front of their kids and beating up old men. He said any men over the age of 16 were targets to be killed. People who worked with him said he was trigger happy. They would go from not having to kill anyone to him stepping in and shooting up the place. Who really knows the truth though. This was a guy who was basically found guilty in court of being a pathological liar. He was probably very good at his job, but so were Waffen SS soldiers and Nazi death camp guards. Real heroes know right from wrong and stand up for what's right. They don't just follow orders.

Fuck me. It's so cold and windy my place is still chilly with max heat on for hours. I don't want to pay a massive utility bill and still be cold... Seriously thinking about turning it off and crashing with people a little further south.
