So I called a homicide tip line and provided a name of a guy that I though could have a slight possibility of being linked to a local crime spree. I wonder how this will turn out. The guy will probably pop up on my front porch and kill me.
Sniper thing. Details? Well in summary I knew a guy in the area that pretty much admitted to doing what the sniper is doing. The catch is that it was a long long long time ago. So long ago I really don't see how it could be him but the thought always stuck in my head that a knew guy that that mentioned he did that stuff. Then yesterday for some reason it just bugged the heck out of me so I looked up the number for the task force and called it in.
I didn't ask to be anonymous. I suppose he could find out if they actually reach out to him. The guy disappeared a long time ago and I have my doubts that he's even in the state.
Um yeah. It was weird. He was into church groups and stuff which is what made it so odd and probably why I remembered him saying it. He must have had an exciting night or something to want to share the info. The way he described it made it sound like it wasn't just random mischief. It sound like it was well planned. He'd painted his BB gun black and dressed in black so people wouldn't spot him. Then he'd head out and hide near a highway and shoot cars. And that's exactly whats happening with this current sniper. My parents had some shit neighbor kids that would shoot out other peoples windows with BB guns but that was different. This guy was making a sport of it.
You'd have to be pretty close to the highway to use a BB gun and hit anything. Is that what's being used now? A quick Google search said that a bicyclist had been killed and someone else was shot in the neck.
The police wont say what kind of weapon is being used which I thought was odd. They are also hesitant to say all the shootings are related. There was one death, two injuries, and several windows shot out.
I find it hard to believe a BB gun could do that kind of damage. A lot of serial killers develop their MO in childhood or their teenage years. Their killings are rarely a spontaneous thing. It's typically a ritual they've developed over many years. So the stuff with the BB gun may have just been practice for the real thing.
