Cheers mate. I aced the interview but that means nothing as I've aced interviews before and didn't get the job. No my Dad isn't my boss, he had the job before I took over, and they only went external so they could offer me an interview since as I stated earlier I was classed as external, not internal.
If someone's a good old boy it means they're ok, not a bad person, someone you can get along with, a nice guy. A good old boy as it were.
They could have probably convicted her of lesser crimes (besides charges related to deception of the police), such as manslaughter, but they did not have sufficient evidence to prove murder with intent. It was a dumb move by the prosecution.
My brother has been the victim of 'Slamming'... He signed up to Sky TV, Phone and Broadband about 3 months ago. Today his BB goes off, he calls them up and they say someone else has taken over the line, ring 150 find out who it is and tell them to sort it out. I told him to call Sky back, speak to a manager, say they had broken his contract and that if they didn't get him back on he wanted his TV package cancelled and he will go to VM (cable). He did so and just called me back.. It will take them 30 days to get his BB back on (reconnect phone line at exchange and enable LLU) but his billed this month has been cleared, he has half price on all his services for 12 months and 3 months free BB. Always worth arguing with these people, tell them they have broken the contract and you are going elsewhere and they will give you whatever you want! See if he gets a bill from someone else now, he can have the fun ringing them and telling them he never signed anything so they can piss off. I got the Sky CEO's email address incase they didn't help him and was looking forward to sending him a moody email on his behalf but will now keep it for future reference.
That's the thing. Every joe doesn't really know. They think they know from what they watch off the TV or what they perceive (if they were acquainted with her). If we charge people with that type of evidence, then we're no better than the people burning "witches" The prosecution has to provide hard evidence to win high profile cases like this. It's like AKS said.. it's like a gamble. If you're going for something like life in prison or death penalty, you bet your ass you better have a case. If you don't, your chances are much better with lesser charges. The murder in question occurred where I used to live, Orlando, Florida. I actually still lived in Orlando when it happened in 2008. Casey Anthony even got arrested for using bad checks at a store (Super Target) that I shopped at during that time. She's a really dumb girl and I think that's why the general public finds her guilty. Added to the fact that she didn't report her daughter missing until a month later and her repeated lies to law enforcement. But they were still missing hard evidence to persuade the jury.
I was under the impression they had ZERO proof of those wild accusations. I kinda assumed it was an accidental/negligent death that was covered up. The prosecution should've gone for something simpler like manslaughter.
I think she was a dumb ass who knocked her kid out so she could party. Then things went wrong. Manslaughter might have been easier to get.
People have been convicted of first degree murder on far less hard evidence. In addition to the prosecution dropping the ball, I think the fact that she was a young, attractive middle class white girl in redneck country played a huge role. If a black person or a man had done this, they would have been convicted in a heartbeat. Moreover, if she didn't murder her daughter, who did? And why all of the lies if it was an accident?
No doubt about that. Nobody wants to send a pretty 23 year old girl to prison for life/death row without a confession. She doesn't even need to be black, if she was a little older and uglier she'd be in jail.
This Sunday will be the last edition of the New of the World according to James Murdoch (Rupert's son). This phone hacking thing is really becoming massive and now they have shut down the whole operation.
Judge sentenced her to 4 years for lying but after time served and good behavior it should be around 6 weeks.
@Bfun She gets released next week: http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/07/07/casey-anthony-to-be-sentenced-thursday/?hpt=hp_t1 Heaven help us if she has another kid.
