  1. That is if this job happens. Slaving away in a hot kitchen all day in the summer does not bring me happiness. Though the wage packet does.

  2. Well you will be happy to know that the forecasters are forecasting that the rest of July will be pretty miserable. Chances are August will be the same so you shouldn't have too long before you will be glad for the warmth because your gas prices are too expensive to put your heating on at home!

Long range forecasts at the moment predict another cold winter like last year too and the chap who correctly forecast the last bad winter is agreed. We shall have to wait and see but apparently the sun is very inactive at the moment which may be why the weather has been pants the past couple of years.

  3. I go Geordie and don't use heating unless it is sub zero at Christmas.

  4. A real Geordie doesn't even do that :) Brown Ale Jacket.

  5. I can send you your present early this year if things get too bad.

  6. Monsly's jumper from last year! Woop!

  7. I haven't even washed it so that if you get lonely of a night you can cuddle up to it and through his 'scent' imagine that he is with you.

  8. So it was Grim who stole my jumper. The bastard.

  9. It seemed a cheap way of getting your gift this year, giving you your jumper back, but you being rich I have now decided that Phisix needs it more. Don't worry, I have a back up present for you...

You might want to get your left leg amputated at some point because I couldn't find the other one in Chi's underwear draw.

  10. I've worked in plenty of pubs and the chefs easily worked the hardest out of anyone. Always having to keep an eye on over a dozen meals at once, and the heat, I would melt spending 8 hours in that heat. I'm not sure if I could do that job, I guess it depends where you go though, some pubs' kitchens aren't all that busy

  11. I left my phone at my mates but just rang me to say I had a txt saying to be at the pub by my other mate by 4pm for the job interview with him. Been a while since I had a job interview, but feck it there is nothing to lose and my life has been getting better lately so this will be the last thing I need to do to be back to how I was, then I can finally start paying off my £1000 debts and get a HD TV and my PS3 back.

  12. Good luck with that mate. Here's a little nugget of advice for the interview.

You know they always ask if you have any questions at the end of the interview? That always stumped me because they explained everything already but a friend gave me an excellent question to ask.

"Was there anything in particular about my CV that made you want to invite me for an interview?"

It can catch them off guard and can make a good impression.

  13. It's a mate so I won't need to blag anything. He just txt saying be down by 4pm if you want the job. Hope that don't mean start today as tired and it's a bit late. Knowing him it will happen. Oh well.

  14. I would imagine a lot of late work will be involved as that kind of job is always going to be busier in the evenings.

  15. Will need to be trained in things first. never been a cook, chef, fryer whatever. My flatmate said it was only grilling steaks and frying, but I don't know. Training would help.

  16. That would be awesome if they just threw you a spatula and said get to it.

  17. What a slacker. Are you tired from doing nothing all day? Get to work!

  18. No, been painting and laying new carpet all day. :p

Interview went well, and luckily it was with my mate who is now the head chef. Basically said the job is mine but will wait for what the big boss says, but they need two new chefs so it should be sorted. Said he will try and get me 40 hours a week so that will be sound. Bye bye debts and hello new stuff if this happens.

  19. Do you even know how to cook? There's only one country I can think of where that's not a problem if you're going to be a chef.

  20. I know how to cook, but they do foods and recipes I have not cooked yet, plus there will be other jobs to do apart from cooking. It's a job and I have been out of work since November so yeah.
