Crysis 2: PS3 Vs Xbox 360

  1. So you're telling me you got two tv's and two ps3's side by side and played the games, I call bulls**t you weirdo.

I was surprised at how good Crysis 2 looks but there is a lot wrong with it, too many glitches.

Kill Zone 3 has so much going on around you at any given moment it's amazing. It's not as pretty as Crysis 2 but it's a warzone and it isn't supposed to be pretty. I'm pretty sure that Kill Zone 3 utilises the PS3 far more than Crysis 2.

What's wrong with you, do you want us to all agree with your opinion even if we don't share it.

I promise you that games will hit the PS3 this year that will look better than Crysis 2.

EDIT: I can actually write bullshit on this forum, cool!

  2. True. I had a strange issue between levels 15 and 16 where it always crashes during the cutscene. Apparently it's a common issue. You can load the next chapter from the main menu, so it's not game breaking. There was also a level I was playing where a building suddenly had an invisible roof with marines standing on it. Those kinds of things shouldn't be present in a finished product.

  3. Right well I think I've played enough Crysis 2 to fairly comment on this thread.

Kill Zone 3 graphically beats it into the ground. Crysis 2 can look very good but can also look very poor. The lighting is very good but not good enough to ignore it's many many faults. I was playing last night and I died, upon restarting the level it seemed as though I had found my way into a field but actually hardly anything had rendered on screen and I kept walking into invisible walls so had to restart.

I think it may be in the top 5 best games graphically but by the end of the year will be lucky to stay in the top 10. On PS3 anyway.

I am now debating whether to carry on with this glitchfest or return it. This is the point I made with monsly you just don't get the same level of polish and testing with multiplats as you do with PS3 exclusives.

  4. I agree totally. The amount of money they spend on developing these games would suggest that "common issues" shouldn't happen at all. I think they're just signs of games that have been rushed... that or lazy developers.

Say what you will about Crysis 2, it's exactly the kind of game this forum needs to spark such discussions.

  5. I can't hide my disappointment, it's incredibly overhyped, granted I'm not far into it but I could easily walk away from it and never play again.

I was playing last night and my girlfriend walked into the room and at the time I was getting shot by somebody who was around a corner from me so impossible to shoot me, five minutes later and I walked into a soldier who was standing perfectly still, I couldn't shoot him and I couldn't move him. She said what I was thinking "this is supposed to be awesome".

  6. In a Sony Zombie's view perhaps it gets beaten' into the ground, if you read reviews the conclusion is its the best looking console game to date.

  7. I don't care what reviews say I can form my own opinion thank you. For me there are far two many glitches in the game for it to be classed as the best. I actually think this game can't run on consoles, it does run but not very well. In fact the Eurogamer reviewer even said in some areas avoid combat to stop the framerate becoming unplayable.

Unfortunately I'm not as fortunate as you to have 2 PS3's and 2 TV's side by side to compare games but I know I much prefer the look and gameplay of KillZone 3.

BTW. What is an Xbot doing with 2 PS3's anyway or is this yet more bull you are spouting.

  8. Xbot? lol, never owned one myself. And offcourse a Sony Zombie is never gonna like if an game on 360 is looking better then anything on PS3.

What was KZ3 then, lol. Seems your spouting bull.

  9. It's all about opinion, I really enjoyed KillZone 3 single player and I haven't even tried multiplayer yet.

Kill Zone 3 is HD, has excellent AA a steady framerate and no tearing.

Crysis 2 is Sub-HD on both consoles, has poor AA, poor framerate and tearing on 360.

Whether Kill Zone 3 was overhyped is down to the players opinion but on a technical level it is the better game.

I know Crysis 2 uses bright colours and that is very pretty, I know Kill Zone 3 doesn't but it's winter on a hostile planet so why should it. The sheer amount on screen is what's impressive, the snow and wind effects really do put you in a warzone.

You do realise Crysis 2 is also on PS3 don't you.

  10. I do also realise it looks better on the 360.

  11. The reviews and Digital Foundry do say that the 360 version looks better in some areas and worse in others. It's not night and day so let's not pretend they are very different. Let's not forget that the PS3 has better framerate in high action areas and no screen tearing. There's not much in it.

Let's also remember that Crytek have no previous experience with PS3 unless you count the former Free Radical devs who made the turd Haze.

You can tell before you even play a frame that they haven't done a great job when you realise there is a big install. PS3 exclusives don't do that anymore and have no issues, they have better streaming tech to avoid it nowadays.

EDIT: So if you don't own a 360 how can you say it looks much better. Are you just taking other opinions as gospel and passing them on as your own.

  12. I dont own any PS3 or any Xbox. But at my friends house we have a LAN sometimes and theres atleast some PS3's and a 360. We used to compare games allready in 2003 with PS2's and Xbox.

That Crysis 2 doesnt play smooth, agree, but the looks are just nicer, for me, atleast. Btw, am neither an Xbot or an Sony Zombie, am pro-pc ya know. Aside from PC, ive allways favoured PS2/PS3 in return to Xbox so.

  13. Well I own a PS3 and both games and I am certain that Kill Zone 3 is the better looking game with none of the terrible glitches Crysis 2 has.

Crysis 2 on 360 would have to be a lot better than the PS3 version to be good enough to compare with Kill Zone 3 but it isn't. It's only slightly better if anything.

For a laugh I suggest you actually play Crysis 2, get past a few enemies and move a fair bit and then go back and look at the enemies you didn't kill. They turn into statues that are no longer able to combat you.

  14. I know how bad the AI is, and the gameplay isnt really my style either, but the graphics did appeal me pretty wel for a console game.

  15. http://www.vgarabia.com/2011/03/21/crysis-2-vs-killzone-3-the-truth/

According to this, Crysis 2 is the better looking game, better then corridor shooter KZ3.

  16. vgarabia? Who?

And KZ3 is a corridor shooter? Buh? You really do talk shit. I thought you were going to stop being a mong. Seems not.

  17. Am not not so much a fan of corridor shooters. Keep celebrating the dumbing down of games, troll.

  18. If you keep trolling, you could end up being banned. How is KZ3 a corridor shooter? Where have I celebrated the dumbing down of gaming?

  19. Am quoting text from an reviewer that concluded that KZ3 is a corridor shooter, and that Crysis 2 is the better looking game. So does IGN and alot of other reviewers.

Its not me saying KZ3 is a corridor shooter, am quoting it. Your the one thats trolling and being an asshat. Keep celebrating.

  20. Where am I celebrating the dumbing down of gaming? You've offered one quote from one person that only says it's more like a corridor shooter in comparison to Crysis 2. He's not calling it a corridor shooter per se. Besides, that's only an opinion anyway. What kind of stupid mong would call KZ3 a corridor shooter?

    Oh.
