Destiny

  1. The shadow price in the vanguard vendor is decent. Stats pretty close to sorus regime but keeps higher fire rate ads. Skills seem a bit poor on the vendor version though

  2. I was feeling very generous and helped chi get 9 strange coins. I'm just altruistic by nature I suppose.

I was considering buying the exotic Warlock chest piece from Xur, but my engram turned into Apotheosis Veil. I may wait to use my coins on a new weapon next week instead.

Icebreaker is really nice. It's a big upgrade over my previous sniper rifle.

Plan to buy a purple auto rifle next after getting a Crucible scout rifle from a purple engram.

  3. I find myself wishing this game had a plot sometimes as I mindlessly finish the same bounties over and over again. I actually fell asleep sitting up while playing tonight.

  4. Looking over this thread, I realize I've become way to casual to fully appreciate this game apparently.

  5. I think the balance of reward v repetition is way out for me. They just haven't got it right. Probably a symptom of limited content and keeping the top 10% glued to it. I think they'll need to change that or it'll decline pretty quick.

  6. But monsly, you were in the top 2% of Resistance 2 and 3 players in the world

  7. That's true, but I enjoyed resistance 2 more. Liked the way the team roles worked too. Also, the atmosphere in destiny is so sterile - Dinklage just sounds clinically bored with everything. They should bring in that DJ from Burnout.

  8. For some reason that made me also imagine the announcer from Unreal Tournament subbing for Dinklage in Destiny, which definitely would not work out.

  9. I tried the Raid with some random guys who invited me from the Tower. We defeated a boss and got some loot, but they were such dicks about traversing that place that I eventually decided to leave before the end. They knew two of us had never done the Raid before, yet they expected us to know the locations of enemies, chests, and other obstacles all were and mostly gave commentary and continuously laughed and taunted when we got stuck. They also intentionally got the other Vault newbie killed on more than one occasion just to troll him. "Oh, he's gonna fall again. He did. Ha! Ha! Hurry up, dude! Come on! Hurry the fuck up!" Hear that for a couple of hours in a very difficult mission and it gets old fast. You can get cursed and teleported and whatnot, and they just complained if you didn't know that via clairvoyance or however you're supposed to be aware of all this stuff without ever actually experiencing any of it. Much of it is not very intuitive, and "Hurry up! You gotta run past where that one rock is and jump down" isn't the most helpful advice in that gigantic place that was so dark on my plasma TV that I considered adjusting the brightness. I could not see some of the ledges where people were jumping. Not the best first experience with the Raid, but that was mostly due to the combo of difficulty of the place and stupidity of the party.

I picked up the Exotic rocket launcher Truth in the Vault...which I already had. I would have preferred Suros Regime or Red Death, but I suppose I don't need any of those while I'm still leveling up Icebreaker, which is actually the weapon I used to kill the boss we fought after most in the party ran out of ammo.

  10. that's hilarious since that's how it is in mmo's nowadays. although I find it weird that it's happening this early in destiny.

in wow, during the first 2 years, alot of people were extremely patient with each other since we all knew we were still learning the game. now the game has aged and blizzard added an auto group mechanism cross server and people act like huge assholes since they know they'll never see each other again. during vanilla, your bad rep can spread and it'll hurt you as everything was done within your own server.

I hear league of legends and to a lesser extent, dota2 players are quite toxic too.

  11. Update stuff.

  12. That damn update. I spent 3 weeks working to get Pocket Infinity (exotic fusion rifle) and get the upgrades that allow it to fire in full auto and increase the clip from 3 to 8, a devastating combination. So I finally got it upgraded and 1 day later Bungie nerfed it back down to 3 shots in a clip.

This is me showing you what the gun was like before they nerfed it. Can't imagine why they'd want to do something like that.

  13. I was levelling up the pocket infinity too. Only have two upgrades on it so far

  14. I need some help doing the weekly mission on level 28 so I can get the 9 coins for Friday. I also have 2 bounties tied to this mission, so I'd like to get it out of the way as soon as possible. It's the easiest strike, the one on Earth, so it shouldn't be a big deal even with a couple of people. I cleared some of the daily stuff at level 28 by myself for the ascendent materials and have my Apotheosis Veil maxed now.

My hunter is also about the hit level 20, so I can trade around my level 20 weapons and have some extra storage space between 2 characters. BTW, the Stranger's rifle is actually pretty decent for level 16 through 19. I'm dumping all my other primaries in storage within that level range. My Titan won't need anything else.

Considering I've decided to grind New Monarchy for Vanquisher VIII instead of just buying Shadow Price like everyone else, I'm probably going to spend that 150 marks on Light/Beware instead. I got a purple shotgun, but it seems TERRIBLE. I've shot people in PvP 2 to 3 times and they just shoot me once with their shotgun and instantly kill me. I'm a weekly mission from getting the Invective exotic shotgun, so I'll just give that thing a try.

  15. I'm on tonight but that's early afternoon for you.

I've managed to get unfriendly giant, an legendary void rocket launcher with cluster bombs.

  16. I'm off work today, so I'll jump on PSN in a minute.

  17. I'll be on around 7pm gmt+1

  18. I got a heck of a lot accomplished in Destiny today. I finished 2 exotic weapon bounties, got lots of strange coins (started with around 15; have around 31 now), got my New Monarchy rank to 3 and bought the Vanquisher VIII auto rifle, and got my hands on more ascendent shards and rare gauntlets from the Vault of Glass. The Raid gear actually has higher defense than anything I've seen in the Tower stores.

I'm really hoping Red Death or Suros Regime will be available from Xur in the next week or so. I won't have enough motes for an other legendary engram this week, but I think I'll have enough for the following week.

  19. How dare you VoG without us!

  20. Destiny is down on PS3 and PS4, this is the problem with online only games.
