Thank you! I made two macros last night and they are stupid long. tab left enter up up up up up up up up up down down down down down enter up up up up down down enter tab = Summon Ice Atronach If you think it sounds funny you should watch it in action. Anyone try the destruction cloak spells yet? I'm not sure if they're worth buying. The destruction ruins have been disappointing but I guess some of the perks might make them better later.
np, I figured there should've been a quick swap in the game as I recalled doing so in morrowind and oblivion. but with this crazy ass menu system in skyrim, I was starting to doubt it. anyone doing alchemy? is it even worth spending time skilling this up?
So far I'd give it an 8. It has a few flaws. Some of the voice acting is hilariously poor and I've gotten texture glitches. At one point in the game everybody's head went invisible. But I wont deny that it's a huge improvement over Oblivion.
I was wonder that. I've been collecting ingredients but I never use them. I regenerate so fast with spells I don't need healing potions. Mana potions would be useful in battles but I don't really need them. Invisibility might be nice. I bought the recipe for that but the ingredients are rare.
Must be an ATI/AMD thing. I've had no graphics glitches at all. I also heard crossfire isn't supported. The voice acting is a big improvement over Oblivion which had literally like three people doing the voices for hundreds of NPCs. @Khaid I've messed around with alchemy a little bit, but it seems like more trouble than it's worth. I don't even have a very high restoration level, and I can still regenerate health very quickly, and almost never need potions. Also, if you don't have a cheat sheet from the internet of what makes what, you're going to waste a lot of ingredients. Some people may want to play around with it just for shits and grins, but it hardly seems like a necessary skill.
I don't know what is going on with AMD lately. In my view, they were outperforming Nvidia, especially in dual card setups. All of a sudden, we see big releases with no support for Crossfire like Skyrim and RAGE. Skyrim actually has NEGATIVE scaling in Crossfire. I thought it was very demanding until I turned off CF. Then I suddenly could run it on High to Ultra settings without a problem with a single card. This is unacceptable.
It a partnering issue. Lots of behind the scene deals go on. I'm sure Nvidia won the spot of premier partner when Bethesda chose to support the proprietary PhysX engine over the open source Pixelux Bullet physics engine. I believe Nvidia will even lend engineers to help with the game development when a company chooses them. It's the same with AMD but they don't win as often. And historically speaking crossfire drivers are very slow to come out.
Bulldozer. It was huge flop. AMD is reorganizing and has had massive layoffs. Also, nvidia is better at partnering with game developers as bfun said.
AMD seemed to be on quite a roll with the 6*** series cards. I think they really need to land a partnership for at least one big AAA game they can boast about. It seemed like they had been doing a better job with drivers until recently. Skyrim and RAGE not supporting CF is ridiculous.
That's pretty much always been the story with ATI going back to the late 90s. Their cards are great from a hardware standpoint but the drivers suck.
AMD got Dragon Age 2 and the Nvidia cards had performance and SLi problems in the beginning. Not sure if the got Mass Effect 2 or not.
So what are some good quests you guys have done? The Dark Brotherhood was pretty awesome. I started the Companions (Fighter's Guild) but it's been kind of boring so far.
I finished the companions last night. I'm keeping the power they give you fairly early on as it's useful against multiple enemies. Has anyone else had the drinking competition with the guy in the bannered mare in Whiterun? Very Dude Where's My Car.
I'm going to get the shock destrucion cloak spell later because it will be awesome to run up to mages (I'm primarily a melee fighter) and activate the cloak and watch them run out of magicka as I'm up close and personal kicking their asses.
Ok, my melee capabilities are comming along nicely now, having a full set of enchanted Ebony armour is helping a fair bit as well. I've gotten heavy armour and one handed weapons into the 50's and 70's respectively. If the going gets tough I just conjure up some Dremora Lords for support.
I got the ice cloak to take care of melee fighters which are my bane. I also took a quest where I got 10 enhanced fire cloak scrolls for testing purposes. I haven't used either spell yet. I bet thats where most people will stop when all their favorite skills are maxed out and all the missions are complete. I know I won’t bother with maxing out speech or alchemy.
I'm loving the way that even though I've finished the companions quest line there's still quests and work to be done involving them. I hate that about Oblivion, you became the leader of a group and that was it. The end.
