I'm at 28 hours and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of the game. I've played it every night for 3 or 4 hours for the past week. I don't give a shit about TV or movies since I started playing this. I loved FO3 but the big issue I had with it was that it was quite short for an RPG. You could see everything in about 30-35hrs. There just wasn't much content. Skyrim is jam packed with content. I think it has more than Oblivion even. Yes! The world in Oblivion felt too clean and perfect. Skyrim is very gritty. For instance neither side in the civil war is what you would call good. The imperials are just pawns for the Thalmor, who are cartoonishly evil, and the Stormcloaks are racist bastards. You're basically just picking the lesser of two evils. Bethesda learned a lot about how to craft a good story from FO3.
My experiences in Markath definitely turned things on their head and (at the very least) made me question what exactly my path within the game was. There's a fight between two opposing groups at the end of the silver mine escape and I basically just fled the city at that point rather than take part due to how confusing the situation was. I didn't really feel like fighting for either side at that point. One of the interesting things about some of those Markath storylines is that they make you choose to do things that you wouldn't ordinarily do in order to escape the situation you're in.
I had that quest in Markath come up but I was busy with Dark Brotherhood stuff at the time. I'll have to go back and do it. Sounds interesting. Markath seemed like a very cool city to explore since it's built on dwarven ruins.
I had a hunch from the begining as Daedric armour is always the best in any TES game, when I smithed my first dragon armour I then saw for a fact that Daedric is superior, and with perks FAR superior.
I've run into two creatures that I can't beat yet. There is an undead wizard named Something the Mad who has a lighting bolt that kills me in one shot and he turns any creature I summon against me. Then there is another semi dead Wizard who summons two Dremora Lords. I'm only level 17. I figure I can kick their butts when I hit 30.
If anyone with the PC version has the Esbern voice/door opening glitch, pirate douchebags to the rescue until Bethesda releases a patch: http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/6814878/Skyrim_Esbern_Voice_Fix.rar Unzip it with 7-zip and drag the "sound" folder to your skyrim/data folder. I can confirm it works. Some people on the 360 are getting this glitch too, but I'm not sure how they're getting around it. All the pirates did was use some Oblivion mod tools to decompress the sound files. Silly Bethesda. They probably paid Max Von Sydow a ton of money for his role, and some people can't even hear him because his character is bugged.
I'm at level 87 on smithing. I improved my Dwarven Armor to legendary, and I have a perk from a quest in Riften that gives me an additional 25% bonus for wearing Dwarven Armor. I need to make some more money so I can level it further. I'm grinding by making daggers at this point because paying for training is insanely expensive at this level. Can't decide whether I want to go with Daedric or Dragon armor. The stuff to make Dragon Armor is much more common but it's not as good.
True. I think I've stuck with the Dwarven Armor because it looks cool. Love how it's all gold, and the expressionless mask makes you look like a badass killer.
The second to last Thieves Guild mission gives you an unbreakable lockpick. They expect you to return it on the next mission. My question is, why would anyone do this? I can't believe anything they would give you in exchange is that great. kind of reminds me of the end of the Dark Brotherhood where they give you 20,000g but then want you to spend 19,000 fixing up the sanctuary. Who would actually spend that on on a place you're probably never going to visit again?
LOL! Bet you can't catch me! Today I saw a dragon pick a fight with a giant. Dragon got it's butt whooped.
You can buy the required components for Daedric armour straight from the stores in Whiterun, no need to hunt around.
There are no daedra hearts in whiterun, I looked, and warmaiden's doesn't stock nearly enough ebony ingots to make a full set, let alone an upgraded one with weaponry. Shinji is all set now. My enchanting it at level 72 which is wierd because it doesn't feel like I've been doing it much. I had no perks associated with it until I hit level 41 though. Every perk I have from now on is going into it so I can increase the power of my enchantments and eventually put two enchantments on each piece of armour and my sword. He'll never be as good as my Oblivion Shinji though, unless he too becomes able to turn literally invincible at will.
What? They regularly stock 4-8 ingots for me at the warmaiden's and the place that sells potions (I forget it's name) usually stocks about 2-4 Daedrea hearts. That's all you need for Daedric armour.
@armitage War maidens has only ever stocked 4, and I spent loads of money on those to make my ebony armour. Arcadias couldrin has never stocked daedra hearts for me, strange. To make a full set of daedric armour you need 17 ebony ingots and 5 daedra hearts. If you want a sword add 2 ingots and 1 heart. Then to upgrade it all you need a further 6 ebony ingots. Not cheap. These days I'm dropping fat stacks on training skills.
I guess I know to start stockpiling ebony ingots. That's a bit of a problem given that I'm close to reaching the ebony smithing upgrade soon. Maybe I'll just try to skip upgrading ebony stuff. Or at least set aside the amount necessary to fully upgrade to the daedric stuff before I think about messing with ebony upgrades.
Well, there is an orc mine that has about 18 or so Ebony veins if you need to get some Ebony. As long as you are in good standing with the orcs they'll let you enter. Also, they tend to stock in excess of 8 ingots for me, maybe it's my level.
