Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

  1. I'm at level 100 now for smithing but I don't have the perk for Daedric armor yet. Thanks for the advice though. Will be helpful when I get around to making the stuff.

My legendary dwarven armor with the +25% dwarven perk I got from that quest in Riften is pretty decent. My overall armor rating with a full set is 503. I should also add that I found I set of gloves that allow me to improve armor and weapons by an additional 20%.

Is the Daedric or Dragon stuff really that much better? I'm watching videos of people with legendary Daedric on youtube and their armor rating is like 530. Hardly seems like it's worth the effort to be honest.

  2. I don't need ebony ingots anyway, my dragon armour will do. I'll get the daedric armour when I make my full warrior character later on. Also I don't need to be in good standing with people to enter places. Shinji is so powerful all the pitiful mortals simply move aside when he approaches, or face the consequences. He goes vere he vishes, like this guy.

  3. They look much better than the other armours so there's that I suppose. I'll see what my armour rating is when I get home and let you know. I'm wearing all legendary dragon armour with a dragon bone shield, I didn't buff my smithing stat before improving as I was unaware it had any effect. When I make my daedric armour with my warrior dude I'm going to buff like a mo' fo' before improving it.

  4. Those special gloves I found are nice. Dwarven bracers of eminent smithing. Let you improve armor and weapons by an additional 20%, even after they've already been improved.

I wish I could remember where I found them.

Meh. My dwarven armor vest is 180, helmet is 94, boots 78, gloves 78, shield 73. It's all actually better than the Daedric stuff shown in this video. And you guys are saying the materials are scarce on top of everything? Think I'll just pass then.

Unless I'm missing something, legendary dwarven Armor + Unfathomable Depths quest in Riften gives you the best armor in the game. The 25% bonus you get for wearing dwarven armor after completing that quest makes it superior to daedric.

Some people will probably prefer the evil look of the Daedric stuff though.

  5. We have some news on the patch.

I looked at the very large list of bugs and glitches and thankfully the almost game breaking bug of having a PS3 save file in excess of 5.5mb causing serious stuttering has been confirmed. I hate this bug and can't wait for the patch as my save file is now over 10mb.

  6. Glad I have waited until this patch as it would have annoyed me. I feel like I am missing out though.

  7. You are. This is one of the best games I've played.

It's better than Oblivion or Fallout 3. This game is Bethesda's magnum opus.

  8. Only 32 days until Christmas and I get my copy along with a PS3 to play it on. I can't believe I am missing out on this, bloody shitty hardware Sony and M$ make.

  9. Once you finish the companions, you can use the same exploit you used for archery with the companion trainers to get all of your combat skills to a pretty high level for not much gold.

  10. My experience wasn't as problematic as yours, but when the mega-hyped GTA IV was released, I discovered that my university connection blocked the ports necessary for online play, meaning I would actually have to move to a new address to play GTA IV with my friends. I was not happy about this.

Hopefully while you are waiting Bethesda fixes some of the bugs and issues with Skyrim. I've had some nasty problems with crashing. In fact, I couldn't even get past the title screen until I did a search and discovered that you have to turn your audio quality way down to basically CD quality or it crashes. As an owner of a 7.1 Marantz/ Polk Audio setup that retailed for just under $6000, I was overjoyed to learn this. Crossfire doesn't work at all; you get negative scaling, so I'm limited to half my GPU power. Using Catalyst settings causes all sorts of problems. And I still get seemingly random crashes to the desktop, which means I have to constantly save to avoid losing progress. It might not be such a bad thing to wait a bit longer if they release a few updates to correct some problems with the game.

  11. As I said before, I haven't had a single crash. I think it's typical AMD/ATI with their crapass drivers. Which is why I would never buy an AMD card myself. Their cards look great on paper and in benchmarks, but I never had good experiences in actual games back when I owned one. They always had bizarre issues that just wouldn't happen with nvidia cards.

  12. probably more of a crossfire driver issue. my regular Radeon 4870 1gb hasn't crashed on me yet.

  13. Cheating again eh? I wanted to wait until I'd done a lot more stuff with Shinji but I really wanted try out being a full mage or sneaky archer so I've started a new game. I'm Ra Vaar, a female Argonian. I'm going to do things differently this time (obvioulsy), I'll side with the stormcloaks amongst other things.

  14. its not cheating of its working as intended :)

  15. I'm not using Crossfire. It doesn't work. The frame rate gets much worse with Crossfire on.

  16. Did you finish the game or you just didn't like your character?

  17. Neither. I've not finished the game and I love my character. I just fancied a different play style for a while. Im going to have at least 4 characters eventually. High elf battle mage. Argonian archer/thief. Orc warrior and breton(?) full mage, just so I can experience the full spectrum of playing styles. I'm not using magic at all with my argonian, should be interesting.

  18. I’ve been playing a dedicated Mage but from what I’ve read destruction doesn’t really level well at the higher levels. So I’m going to try and build up my sword skills. I just got the soul stealing perk so that should work well with my conjured sword. I’m debating whether or not I should even bother with armor. I pretty much have zero armor and I get powned pretty easy if I get too close to someone. I think my stone skin spell will only go to 180 with the right perks. I don’t know what the ebony skin spell goes to but I would guess 360.

  19. My Destruction skill is around 77 I think. I've been a bit disappointed with pure Destruction damage, but you have plenty of firepower when you pair Destruction with Conjuration.

  20. @arma

Can you post your stats for the daedric and dragon armor? I want to know if it's worth making. As I said earlier, that ancient knowledge perk for dwarven armor seems to make it just as, if not more powerful.

I lost most of the interest I had in magic when I found out about the shouts. You can be a melee character and still have some powerful magic with the shouts.
