I think this is why they threw in a bow skill in the sneak perks. They kind of expect you to combine both in that type of approach. If you come across an area with multiple enemies, you can take one or two down with a bow sneak attack and then take out the remaining ones with your sneak dagger attack. For the most part though, if you want to go dagger'd out with sneak, you'd probably be leveling up your one handed combat skills with perks anyways so even if you get detected, you should be able to murder people easily. But if shit hits the fan, the 100 sneak perk is Shadow Warrior. I'm not sure if it's another exploit or working as intended but for about a half second, when you hit sneak while you're in combat, you confuse the target(s) you're fighting for about a second and in that time, you're undetected. So just hit attack and bam, you get your 15x sneak damage in the middle of combat.
Nice. Looking forward to getting my stealthy character up to a high level. Damn so much to do on this game! I want to play as all these characters at once!
I ended up putting some more points into archery, and I'm pleased with the results. The 3x sneak damage is very satisfying. I'm going to probably divide the vast majority of my remaining points between Enchanting, Sneak, and Archery. Also, this armor seems pretty decent:
have you guys done the quest with barbas the dog yet? holy shit that voice is hilarious. its like they grabbed some Mafioso off the street to do voiceovers in the game. I didn't want him to stop talking because it was so humorous.
Yeah some of the voice acting is hilariously hammy. That mercer dude for the thieves guild sounds like he's voiced by some random hobo they found on the street. He really stands out too because some of the other voice actors for the thieves guild are way too into their roles and are seriously overacting.
Do the Dark Brotherhood early on because it gives you a shitload of money and level the shit out of smithing.
I am just doing the update now and will be having a small go. I will be going for the platinum to, so any idea how and when I have to get the 15 dierdric artifacts before they cut out would be a help(They are the only missable trophy)
@phisix Read the section on Daedric quests. I've only done a few of them so far. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Quests_%28Skyrim%29
Cheers. It's the only missable one so I need these as soon as possible, then everything else can be done whenever. Just had a small go and saved it after I delivered the news about the dragon attack to some leader guy. The small village before I met a Blacksmith who was related to the guy who ran away from the Dragon with me. I took everything of his haha. Oh and I did an Arma by accident and killed a chicken not realizing about the bounty. Paid it off so I could continue. Liked what I played so will have a big sesh tomorrow.
Melee. I chose a Norde male. I was a Melee in Oblivion too. What guys do you prefer for your view, 3rd or 1st person?
I use first person most of the time. You'll definitely want to level smithing. The weapons and armor you make and improve yourself tend to be way better than anything you'll pick up.
Combat in skyrim is so much better now that both first and third person work just fine. Except for when you're shooting a bow.. it works much better in first person. Plus good choice in saying melee. You avoided cmdr calling you a fag.
What can I say. Harry Potter is a huge fag and he uses magic. I kid. I kid. I'm probably going to do a mage on my next playthrough. I've just never had any luck mixing magic and melee in RPGs, so I went pure melee on this playthrough. The problem with going the battlemage route is that you end up with a character who isn't particularly good at anything. The smithing aspect of melee is pretty fun. I like trying out different alchemy and enchanting buffs to make the best weapons and armor. I may end up leveling alchemy quite a bit because I've seen people with 100 in alchemy make fortify smithing potions that give a 120% increase in weapons/armor improving.
The master destruction spells are just... amazing. I love being Palpatine, i'll fuck up any Giant, Mamoth or Dragon now with just one slow time thu'm and a nice lightning storm 112 per second After nearly 90hrs this game still has me wanting more..
It's insanely good. I can't remember the last time I was this into a game. I think I've played it for about 40 hours now over the last few weeks. I've done all of the guilds but I haven't started the civil war or gotten anywhere in the main quest.
Damn OG Didn't know you still existed :x was thinking about Jurassic 5 a few days ago (but couldn't quite think of it...), thought OG would know what I'm lookin for. But I found it obviously...
