Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

  1. All of these have been a problem for me. Whats odd is the mouse problem only started recently.

  2. I have a potion that raises my magic by 40 for a certain amount of time, so I will use that when I go back to use the spell.

Still need help for the ebony ore/bar and hearts for my set? Especially now as I am getting owned big time by that mage guy trapped in Asuras star orb thing.

  3. That guy is tough. I couldn’t do it at level 23 so I leveled up a few times and got a charm summon creatures spell. I haven’t been back yet but I think I can take him now. My mage has a natural 55% magic resistance so other spell casters are much of an issue anymore unless they summon stuff and now I can dismiss their summons.

I had to access the console last night. One of my quest was to summon an unbound Dremora lord and beat him up. Well right after I summoned him an Elder Dragon apeared and ate him. Lame. I had to use the console commands to bring him back.

  4. Makes me wish I had console commands in real life. :(

  5. Geeze, your magic characters are so wimpy. I killed that guys in Azura's star with two whacks from my warhammer. He barely put up much of a fight.

Play through most of the Thieves Guild. That will give you access to a fence at the mage's guild who always has two Daedra hearts and restocks them every two days. As far as Ebony ingots, nearly all of the blacksmiths have them. Just travel around and buy all of them up that you find.

  6. I read up theres an Orc mine that had loads of ebony ores and no fights so I will go going there.

I may have to upgrade my armour more so that guy in the star doesnt 2 hot me with his gay fire.

  7. Not the case with me. He summoned two Dremora Lords and turned my own creature against me. It was 4 on 1 and I couldn't get close to him. Are you playing on Easy?

  8. Out of curiosity where do people put their points? Magic, Health, Stamina? I've put all my points into Magic and I think I'm near 350. I've just recently added a few points to my health so I only have 150 health. I don't put anything into stamina.

  9. I put like 75% of it into stamina and the rest in health.

It really depends on your playstyle. I don't get hit with melee that often unless the shit hits the fan. I can get behind cover against projectiles. I let my companion do the dirty work.

Stamina helps alot in archery since the zooming/slowdown perk uses stamina. Also if you're in a dungeon and there's a mess of enemies that found you out, you gotta sprint back into open areas to make space.

For melee, you know stamina for obvious reasons. Swinging takes up stamina and power attacks take up more stam.

  10. I'm playing on regular (adept I think it's called). He was able to summon one Dremora Lord who I also killed very quickly. I'm level 35, have all Daedric gear, and have put so many points into two handed perks that I can kill most enemies in one or two hits with my warhammer. One of the perks allows me to do a running power attack that seems to have a very high chance of scoring a critical hit. I find magic characters to be some of the easiest to kill. I just charge at them and bash their heads in before they can cast anything.

    Health: 290
    Stamina: 290
    Magic: 196

  11. Very early in the game here (level 8) but I'm also putting my points solely into Health and Stamina, I may put a bit into magic later. My focus is mainly on two handed weapons also, although I use bows a lot right now so I've leveled that up to 30 I think.

I'm finding it very easy to exploit this game. If you want to kill a mammoth, just shoot at it and run to some rocks and continue shooting at it from safety. I did the same with some high level bandit, ran towards a town and he stopped on an invisible border. His companion however followed me right up to the gates and almost killed me - luckily the guards helped me smash his head in :p

  12. I have 110 in magic, 210 in health and 200 in stamina. I will be going more in health wise for a while.

  13. yea, I was able to drop a giant and 2 mammoths coming at me at the same time using the uneven landscape tactic earlier today. have you become a quicksave freak yet?

  14. Patch seems nice so far. I can set my audio to 96khz without issues, and the dragon corpses actually clean up properly. There used to be tons of dragon corpses all over the Mage's College creating problems.

  15. Hmmm, I still haven't gotten a patch, maybe they haven't released it for my region yet?

EDIT: Oh wait, here it comes. Also, I suggest people have a look at my screen shots on steam for a bit of a laugh at how I've kind of broken things.

  16. Very much so! I haven't pressed f5 this much in a game in a long time, it really brings me back.

  17. Now that a new patch is out I may start looking into some modding. The draw distance and shadows are the biggest stand outs for me. Sometimes the draw distance is great, other times it's pretty noticeably poor, especially when the LOD makes weird angular bands of land show up in rivers at a distance which disappear when a bit closer. You would think Ultra settings would actually be kind of ultra and bump things like LOD up to a really nice level. Of course people like to cry when they can't turn all the sliders to the far right on their 3 year old once high end PC (like mine) or worse, average PC with shitty GPU. Just look at GTAIV for evidence of that.

  18. GTA 4 is actually a poor example. It might be the most poorly optimized console to PC port in existence. An i7-2600k and a GTX 580 couldn't max that game. The worst part is that it doesn't even look good. The graphics are very dated.

  19. Whats up with all the dragons at the college? Maybe it's because the school is so high.

Two handed weapon fighters have been my bane. 100 hit points and 0 armor means a 1 hit death usually. I invested a few perks in magic armor and that was a mistake. The perks don't work if you have any other armor on you. Some of the most powerful mage mask are considered armor so that basically sucks.

Wall of flame mixed with cloak of flame is an awesome combo. I can run around catch everything on fire and watch everyone burn.

  20. I have no idea. It's constantly swarmed with dragons. I think I've killed five or six there so far.
