24 quests completed 51 misc objectives 11 main quest Side note: noticed a faint burning smell coming from my 360 this weekend. Uh oh...
Two good things today: no more burning odor from the 360 (I think it may have been the WiFi antenna being dislodged and resting against a high heat area) and I defeated King Olaf One Eye and his hoards of Draugrs at Dead Man's Respite. That's a satisfying one to finish...
I finished the civil war campaign fighting for the Stormcloaks. It was kind of repetitive. You pretty much just attack fort after fort and kill huge numbers of imperial soldiers. I did enjoy the end though where you behead General Tullius and destroy Solitude. It seems a lot of people didn't like Ulfric Stormcloak, but I thought he was a badass. General Tullius offers to surrender, and he says something like, "the empire I knew never surrendered" right before telling you to execute him. That just made me feel like I made the right choice siding with the Stormcloaks. The Empire are a bunch of pussies who would have just ended up getting their asses kicked again by the Thalmor. You also find out that the high king he killed in a duel was some little sissy boy who couldn't hold his own in combat, and that he killed him to make an example of how weak the empire had gotten.
Played some more today and found two Daeric hearts on a quest to rid the nightmares from some village. Made myself the Daeric helm, but I need more Ebony ore, and the mine was clean pick by me still. 3 more hearts to go! Oh, and the Dragons are not bugged for me anymore which is good.
The White Phial might be the most pointless and anticlimactic quest ever. I thought I was going to get some cool new tool for alchemy. Instead the old dude who gave you the quest calls you an idiot, gives you five bucks for your troubles, and then croaks from old age. I think this quest was someone's idea of a joke. There was another quest I played that was basically Dude Where's My Car Skyrim Edition, but at least that one had a decent pay off at the end.
I finally have enough hearts to get my Daedric set. Just hope the mine has been reset tomorrow so I can get some ebony ore.
I might have to join the Bard's college just so I can murder everyone there. Should be pretty satisfying.
I just can't get over how huge this game is, even compared to Oblivion. Even if you just do the major stuff: Main Quest Civil War Dark Brotherhood Thieves Guild Bards College Mages College Companions Daedric Quests That's well over 100 hours of gameplay. And that's just the main stuff. There are tons of random side quests you can get pulled into. On top of that, this is just the vanilla game. Who knows what the DLC will bring.
I feel the same way. I'v mostly been doing the small quest and have well over 100 hours. I've hardly touch the main ones. You can add the Grey Beard words of power quests. I keep trying to level up the words but every time I go looking I find a new one. Has anyone done the quest where you have to eat someone? I wondering if I should follow through with it.
I think because Bethesda didn't have to make or tweak an engine with this one, they just went absolutely balls to the wall with the quests.
Of course! Why wouldn't you? Dark feasts please Namira, and there's no reason one should waste a nourishing meal.
I've clocked up almost 170 hours and I've still got to the thieves guild, the dark brotherhood, half of each main storyline and a bucket load of other quests and misc quests. And I've still not even been to falkreath yet! Not to mention the other 3 characters I'm going to do. Massive doesn't begin to describe this game. The bards college is worth doing because although you don't get money or loot from the quest givers they put up about 6 of your skills, each, and there's 3 of them.
Yeah, I had found Finn's Lute in a dungeon without even knowing what quest it was related to and then ran across the NPC who was looking for it at the Bard's College. I was really surprised when I got that many skill increases for handing it over! I'm not even close to the hours clocked with this game that some people have. I've probably played about 35 hours or so now.
It was like something right out of Silence of The Lambs. I thought my companion would bolt but he didn't. He said something like, "I remember my first feast".
I think Arcadia of Arcadia's Couldrin is suffering from something. She just said "A hardy Nord like you probably wouldn't need invisibility potions." to my High Elf.
