  1. Plan. Unlock at 10:01 mountain time. Beat game by 11:01. Post all spoilers by Midnight to ruin game experiance for everyone else.

Feed Your Console has given Skyrim a 9 out of 10 after 30 hours of play.

  2. My PS3 copy has just arrived. Can't wait to launch it, kids should be sleeping in 2 hours and then, Skyrim, here I am!

  3. I'm sold after watching this

  4. Reminds me a lot of videos people posted of themselves using the mesmetron in Fallout 3. You could do some pretty crazy things to the NPCs when they were hypnotized and it was always hilarious when their heads would randomly explode.

Does anyone know if this game has a morality aspect where you can be evil? I loved being a douche to the NPCs in FO3.

I might pick up Skyrim if I ever get my video card back from Gigabyte. It's been almost a month. Their turn around time on RMAs is horrendous. And of course my card had to shit itself in October right before all of the big games come out.

  5. Yeah EVGA still has the best RMA system.

  6. EVGA cross ships, right?

I don't think I would buy from Gigabyte again after this experience. There's too much down time if something goes wrong. I've been on a laptop for the last month, and I hate laptops.

  7. Yes. They have teirs of service. The highest will overnight you a new card. It aint cheap though.

  8. I am like 2 hours into the game and it plays really well. There are so many things improved after Oblivion but it's still the same feeling, the views, the music. I've done first larger dungeon (near the first city of Riverwood) and the dungeon layout is complicated and detailed. Enemies and NPCs are beautifully animated. It's a pleasure to hear that every person you meet has his/her own voice and the lip sync works great. I've even asked a bard in a tavern to sing a song for me.

  9. Is there a morality system like in FO3? Can you be a dickhead who steals and murders people?

  10. Is the leveling system semi-sane this time? I loved most things about Oblivion, but I absolutely loathed the leveling system.

  11. 3 hours in and I crashed on my first fast travel.

The leveling system is similar but different. Skills are increased like before but the points work towards unlocking skill trees.

Someone needs to fix the elk animations. Stupid things bolt through the water like it isn't there.

    Nope, Yes

  12. What surprized me about the leveling system is that it is you who control the exact moment of the advancement. I haven't noticed that for a moment and I thought that for some reason my characted is stuck at level 1 with the progress bar fully filled. then, when I finally hit the option, I jumped from level 1 to level 3 and got 2 perks.

It is a change from Oblivion (where you had to sleep to advance) and even from Fallout where the progress was automatic.

  13. I started with the recommended graphics setting of high but then later changed it to Ultra and I was still getting 60fps. Weird.

    So far I like.

  14. My first arrival at Riverwood was the polar opposite to what I saw in the trailers. Firstly it was night time. I saw a chicken on the path and naturally my first instinct was to kill it, 45 bounty. I waited for the guards but none came. I ventured into the local inn to meet some people when I was suddenly attacked by two patrons and the bar tender! First I tried to yield, no such option as far as I can see. Then I tried to fight, but my frail level 1 character was no match for their maces and daggers. I decided to leave the tavern and go into a house to continue a story quest but again I was jumped. I ran all about town trying to find a guard to pay off, there are none in Riverwood.

So I ran. I ran so far away. I figured that since my bounty was in the hold of Whiterun there may be guards in the town of the same name. I marked it on my map and set off for Whiterun. The villagers of Riverwood followed to the village limits, weapons swinging but I soon lost them. On the way to Whiterun I encountered some people from a group called the companions and was asked if I'd like to join, before I could respond I was being shot at by archers. I died. So I had to hot foot it from Riverwood again, this time I missed out the patch of land housing the companions and made it to my destination. I found many guards but they were all too busy trying to kill me with swords and arrows to bother trying to arrest me. I died, again. On my third attempt to get to Whiterun I was again attacked by guards but one of them actually stopped to arrest me this time, I gladly paid my bounty and was set free.

    The moral of the story is;

    DON'T FUCK WITH PEOPLE'S CHICKENS!

  15. It sounds just like Oblivion where the robotic NPCs would follow you to the ends of the earth for the smallest transgression.

  16. According to Tom's Hardware, Skyrim has very modest hardware requirements. A dual core and any remotely decent video card will handle the game just fine.

Looks like with my 1GB GTX 460 and 1680x1050 monitor, I can expect a steady 60FPS on high.

    Even ultra looks very playable:

The game doesn't use more than two threads and won't benefit from a quad core, although it seems to get a boost from the Sandy Bridge chips because they have such strong single thread performance.

  17. I hate this month, so many great games but I cannot afford them all. Skyrim will have to wait.

  18. Didn't I send you a demonoid invite? Heyooooo!

  19. Guess what's going on in utorrent right now.. heyooooO!
