Taco Bell is to tacos as McDonalds is to burgers. In other words, don't judge them based on that video. That wasn't a real taco but a cheap fast food imitation. In fact, I was kind of under the impression the Dorito taco was more of a big joke/marketing thing than anything else. I'm not even sure I would call that food.
I had tongue taco's once and it was damn good. I also know a guy that swears the cow head taco is the best taco ever. Mmmm. I'm so getting some street tacos tomorrow.
What surprised me most about that video was the size of the taco the fat guy was eating, I imagine all American food to be bigger than your head. That is the impression I get from watching Man V. Food, even when he talks to people in the places not doing the challenges they are all eating humongous plates of food.
Is this why fat guys eat so much? All normal food portions look tiny in comparison to their bulk? We could solve obesity by making fat people wear magnifying lenses!
I liked tongue much better when it was prepared and sliced in a sandwich at a Jewish deli. It was delicious. But the tongue taco I had at a taquería was chewy and fatty. I ended up throwing part of it away.
it's similar to McDonalds hamburger. tiny pieces of garbage for cheap. people usually buy like 5 tacos for their meal.
I haven't tried Shake Shack, as there are none where I live or vacation. I've read a comparison article that picked Shake Shack as the best, but they also claimed that In-N-Out burgers were terrible, which I know from first hand experience is bullshit. Nevertheless, from what I've read they are an contender on the rise. In-N-Out is easily my top pick currently, but unfortunately I rarely have access to one. Five Guys is the only one of the three in there area I live.
I can vouch for Five Guys. They make damn good burgers and fries. Everything is fresh and made right in front of you. Their menu is about as simple as you can get, just burgers, hot dogs, and fries, and it's all good. I actually just had Five Guys for dinner.
Comparing Five Guys and In-N-Out, Five Guys is a great guilty pleasure giant, messy hamburger with good toppings, but there are also clear weaknesses such as marginal bread that goes soggy halfway through eating it and not having the most impressive cheese. In-N-Out is as consistently good as I've seen in fast food, and they really don't have any major weaknesses. Their food is less expensive, they have an awesome and rather large set of off-menu codes for variety, the shakes are tasty, the company is very picky about their ingredients, and they take care of their workers. They also tend to be highly profitable despite paying their workers well with benefits. Read some of the comments of employees: http://www.indeed.com/cmp/In--n--out-Burger/reviews How often do you see fast food workers consistently rating their employer 5/5 stars? The menu for In-N-Out is also extremely simple, but there are tons of wild off menu codes you can apply free of charge, including The Flying Dutchman, a 3x3, or Animal Style fries. Every In-N-Out will instantly know exactly what you are talking about. They are treated the same as anything listed on the official menu. Five Guys is a very nice alternative for me, especially considering that's the only good fast food burger joint in my area (some claimed Culver's compares favorably; cocaine's a hell of a drug...). Five Guys is very good but not consistently good at just about everything like In-N-Out. I've read that Shake Shack really excels with the quality of meat and bread, which are admittedly excellent areas to focus on if you want to be the top burger joint. There aren't many Shake Shack restaurants compared to In-N-Out or Five Guys just yet, and Shake Shack also appeared to clearly be the most expensive. I'm curious about it and will grab one of their burgers as soon as I encounter one.
Don't get to these places often but I second in-n-out, clean environment and scrumptious food every time I go there! I also have an Arctic Circle I'd rate up there in taste, 1x I went there the burger was as dry as toast though, but that was only like 1ce out of 4 times (big groupon so I had lots of coupons to use even if my first impression was negative). Environment was dirty as hell though (not their fault that their location turned into a ghetto though) Kitchen wasn't so bad... just it wasn't all shiny like my trips to in-n-out in Reno. The thing I loved was they served floats!! and they had something like close to 100 flavors of ice cream- which ofc caried on to their floats and shakes varieties! (I think they had a partnership... with Dreyers or something...). Some nice special sauce too. A little expensive but not with my groupon. Got a 5 guys about 90 miles away, hope to get to it some day.
My mom just got one of these to replace her BMW 335i convertible. I'd say it's quite an upgrade. 564HP/663ft lbs torque hand made, custom tuned twin turbo V8, 0-60mph in under 4 seconds. We went out for a ride in it today, and I have to say, I've never really experienced a car with this much torque or this kind of acceleration. Also, a hard top is definitely the way to go if you're going to get a convertible.
