Ja Rule trolled rich hipsters hard this weekend. Fyre Festival was pitched as an ultra-luxury version of Burning Man or Cochella. A 10 day, spare not expense, event in the Bahamas bookending with concert weekends. Instagram "influencers" helped sell tickets from $12k - 250k. When they got there. They were put up in FEMA tents. Served only ham and cheese sandwiches and ran out of drinking water on day 1. Hilariously, these idiots went Lord of Flies within hours. The stronger groups were stealing food, water, accomadations. The weaker groups took to Twitter to complain. But it seems the internet has no mercy for them. People want a travel ban on Fyre Festival refugees lol. Hype:
Read about this earlier fucking hilarious. I wonder if anything will be done about the group who set it up.
Grade A trolling from Ja Rule and co. Vapid rich socialite scum promised a high-end music fest in the Bahamas but instead trapped on a blasted rock island with FEMA tents, cheese sandwiches, feral dogs, and no music (because they never paid the artists). Absolutely hilarious.
Someone who helped organize it and quit when they saw it was going to be a disaster writes about it. Interesting article but a dumb move for the author. The rich douchebags who went to this thing are definitely going to lawyer up and sue everyone involved. http://nymag.com/thecut/2017/04/fyre-festival-exumas-bahamas-disaster.html
meta #fakenews. Particularly hilarious because 'it's a social experiment' is how millennial YT scumbags get out of responsibility for all kinds of depraved behavior.
The festival founder got 6 years in prison for this. https://www.engadget.com/2018/10/11/billy-mcfarland-fyre-festival-sentenced-federal-prison/
