Gran Turismo 5

  1. Thought there were some good races last night; Nurburgring with 200-300 horsepower cars seems to be the best setup for funs. A lot of people joined which was cool and my aggressive/chaotic race style seemed to get results. Awesomes.

  2. Unfortunately, I couldn't drive at 100% because I was on the phone for the last few races. I completely messed up the last few corners of the last race.

  3. New seasonals are up, split into engine categories as well as events for the Ferrarri Formula 1 cars. Rewards have dropped to pretty low amounts now. First race gives out 13k. Shame.

    FF Drivetrain, 200hp

    Eiger Short
    Trial Mountain

    FR Drivetrain, 300hp
    Deep Forest Raceway
    Suzuka Circuit
    Cape Ring North

    4WD Drivetrain, 400hp
    Rome
    Laguna Seca
    Cape Ring Full

Horsepower is just a guide, the races only have engine type restrictions.

  4. Patch 1.06 is out today. 300mb
The performance points should be a good addition, there'll be less guesswork in finding different cars that are comparable in performance.

Racing coursemaker tracks online is another nice touch.

Times for the X Vettel events have been changed, hopefully to be easier.

HOLY FRACKIN SHEEP! It now displays a tick next to cars you already own!

  5. Shit the bed. How long has it taken them to do something so simple??

What does remote racing do? I'd heard of the PC mode but wasn't sure what the difference is.

  6. You're so harsh monsly, they had a patch in January so this is the second patch in te two months this games been out.

The remote B spec basically let's you do B spec from the gran turismo site. I think you need your PS3 on though.

  7. There's 2 mentions of remote racing but they both refer to the same thing? Pah.

I rather think someone should have picked up on the car thing during development really. It was a stupid oversight.

  8. Looks like the seasonals this week are back to the usual high paying races. Good.

  9. I could be tempted back to try them; game needs more JOY to recapture my heart.

  10. Hmm remote b spec on the community page let's you race each other's b spec drivers.

Menus seem to be a bit quicker now, most noticeable in the parts menu, buying and installing can be tapped through now instead of waiting for each menu to display.

  11. That is one serious patch. I'll be checking it out later.

  12. Some good stuff in this patch, the ability to select from your entire garage online is probably the biggest thing for me.

I've just noticed the UCD cars come in different colours now as well. A Holden Commodore which used to only come in silver has appeared in green and orange for me, for example.

  13. So they've done away with the favourites list? Thank god. Being able to only choose a measly 100 cars was cramping my style. Im downloading the patch now. 37% done, 22mins left. Why do downloads always take forever with me?

  14. Favourites are still there, but you can actually use it for your favourite cars now.

Your connection sounds flaky, mine took about 10-15 minutes to download and install, I wasn't really paying attention.

  15. I'm currently collecting all the cars in the game. I've got 739 at the moment.

How many cars are in Gran turismo 5? I hear you ask. There are 1031 cars in Gran Turismo 5, not including the Stealth cars.

  16. 1031 cars, and only 17 can be race modded. Terrible. I've heard Kaz wants to continue bringing out more huge updates to include ambitious stuff like giving every single car an in car view. I'm interested. I'm trying out the remote racing thing but it seems broken already, when I click on My GT Home on the website it just says under maintenance, which it wasn't about 5 mins ago before I tried the remotes.

  17. From computerandvideogames.com

That last bit sounds good. There are so very many cars that are premium that really shouldn't be and way way too many cars that aren't premium but should be. Examples:

Cars that are premium for some reason even though they shouldn't be

    Fiat 500 (new and old)
    Honda Civic '97
    Suzuki Cappucino
    Mitsubishi iMiev
    Two near identical Minis

There's loads more but I can't remember off the top of my head.

Cars that are for some unknown reason not premium even though they should be

Arguably the best road car ever built, the Bugatti Veyron
    Aston Martin Vanquish
    All the RUFs
    Pagani Zonda C12S
    Saleen S7
    Jaguar XJ220
Most of the best cars in the game such as the Toyota Minolta, Jag XJR9, Sauber Merc C9,Nissan R92CP, Bentley Speed 8, Peugeot 905, Judd Courage thing, Pescarolo.

    And many many many more.

  18. I've done two remote races now. The first one was against Nathandrakes' two b spec drivers. My level 22 driver lost out to his level 4 guy. I hate b spec. The second race was against chi's level 40 driver round indy in nascars. I lost again. I still won prizes though I'm about to see what they are. It's a cool feature, or at least it would be if I had a phone with internets so I could get him doing races all day while I'm at work. That would be neat.

  19. Ah, I haven't tried the remote races yet. but I have seen my B spec guy getting the prize dot things.

  20. I'm currently saving up 15million. I need more seasonals! I can see myself eventually just sitting there buying mazda mx5s for ages to get to 1000 cars lol.
