Gran Turismo 5

  1. It's online.

  2. I hate the 2J race car. My b spec driver cant win that monaco historic car cup. He couldn't win it in the Toyota 7 so I thought he must need the 2J. He simply won't overtake the other 2J. I thought once I had the 2J the race would get done. I'm definitely not spending 15 million on this car.

  3. You need to keep reloading the race until the competiter's 2j is behind your driver.

  4. I tried, the best I got was him 1 place in front. My dude somehow overtook him before the first corner so now victory is assured. I shall drive the car my self for a quick race just to see what it's like then I shall return it. Thanks chi, you just saved me 15 million credits! Add that to the 3.5million you saved me with the FGT and you've saved me 18.5million. Small change to you though with your self driving/cheating "earning" millions while asleep tactics lol.

Super chi, solves all your GT money woes!

And as an added bonus I now have a delicious 12 million to play with. I think I'll finally buy a Ferrari Italia as most of the boys have one and they all say they're awesome. I also think I'll finish tuning the standard cars in my garage. Excellent. Who needs seasonals when you've got chi?

  5. Because I didn't have to buy the 2J I've been snapping up some cars I've been meaning to get for ages now. I just bought the following premium cars:

    Viper GTS '02 (90,400)
    Viper SRT10 Coupe '06 (99,770)
    Viper SRT10 ACR '08 (100,000)
    Ferrari Italia '09 (283,000)
    Ferrari Enzo '02 (1,000,000)
    Honda Epson NSX '08 (950,000)
    Lexus LFA '10 (375,000)
    McLaren F1 '94 (1,000,000)
    Mercedes SLS AMG '10 (197,620)
    Mercedes SLR McLaren '09 (598,500)
    Nissan Motul Autech GT-R '09 (950,000)
    RE Amemiya FD3S RX-7 (100,000)
    RE Amemiya AsparaDrink RX7 '06 (500,000)
Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car (3,600,000)

    And 1 standard car:

    BMW M3 GTR Race Car '01 (975,780)

Quite a splurge eh? That was a total of 10,820,070 credits spent. Lovely.

  6. Nice going. I've got pretty much all the premiums under a million.

  7. I noticed this thread on the GT5 forum.

    http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/Gran-Turismo/OPC-run-what-you-brung-Wednesdays/td-p/12590318

Basically every wednesday at 8pm (UK) they host races starting at 200hp limit and increasing by 100hp after every race. I'll be there tonight, anyone else joining?

  8. Its luck to get your bspec driver to win this. I won cause the J2 car got caught at that dodgy bend. I won it with a toyota 7 Just mind you as the second J2 was hot on my heels!!

  9. There's a big Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2.0 Update coming later this month. Here’s what's coming, which will be made available to everyone for free:

Simplified interior views added to all standard cars.
User control of the weather change feature.
Settings sheet which allows you to save multiple car settings.
    New Spec 2.0 opening movie.
    Improved UI response and usability.
    Replay forward/rewind.
Mid-race save feature for endurance races.
Expanded online lounge features (narrowing down car types, shuffle races…).
Expanded Photo Travel features (you can now take photos of cars together with your avatar).
Added “NASCAR Pit Scene” stage to Photo Travel.
Added 11 new 2011 NASCAR models.
Added the Nissan GT-R N24 Schulze Motorsport (the car in which Kazunori contested the 2011 Nurburgring 24 Hours).
    Improved physics and artificial intelligence.
Support for the Logitech G25/G27 steering wheel.

  10. Improved UI, eh? I won't hold my breath on that one resolving the sheer clunkiness of GT5. Still this could tempt me back; it's been a great game to play with my new wheel - just doing time trials is loads of fun with it in this game.

  11. The multiple setups for each car and ability to save mid race on endurance races are probably the most important features in this update.

How is the wheel working out for you, is it making your driving worse, or worser?

  12. Dunno, it's just different really. It's a lot more fun for sure and the wheel should be a big advantage overall but the pad does offer a few advantages.

  13. What advantages does the pad have? I'd have thought the more accurate steering and throttle control of the wheel would beat out any pad.

  14. It takes a long time to get use to is probably the main thing at the moment. The big advantage a pad has is you can switch to extremes of steering quickly; you really miss that in some situations.

  15. Those features all sound good. I was on the GT5 forum back in April and they were talking about a mid endurance race save option, I like the idea of in car views in the standards cars too since that's generally my preferred view. But at the end of the day it's too little too late, me and my mates all stopped playing GT5 months ago. It just suffered the standard Gran Turismo curse of becoming really boring after a while.

  16. Any idea what cars can get a racing modification? I want the trophy! Love those seasonal specials as I made 600.000cr in 2 races! :D

  17. These are the cars you can race mod.
