Internet access a necessity?

    FCC has conflicting opinions whether or not Internet access is a necessity in our modern society.

    imo it definitely is if you want your population to be functional members of society. almost all things assume you have some form of Internet access. some places don't even have paper job applications anymore.

    First thing came to my mind was the job aspect. Seems to me that people without Internet would be at a significant disadvantage for for finding and applying for jobs.

    It's becoming as necessary as electricity or phone service I would say. It's hard to get a job or function in society today without it. You could live without it of course, but you would be off the grid, the same way you would be without electricity or phone service.
