If that's the standard of ipad games I don't think consoles have anything to worry about. Is there a more casual game genre than tower defence? Not interested.
Bungie has a new studio label called Bungie Aerospace that is co-producing an iOS game that will be released on iPad for free on September 1st...Crimson: Steam Pirates. Apparently it's a turn based strategy game with a Steampunk theme and plenty of multiplayer support. I guess they're delaying the release for other iOS devices and Android devices until a later date. http://www.bungie.net/projects/aerospace/Crimson/content.aspx?link=crimson_about
This one has been getting quite a bit of good advance press: Jetpack Joyride. Comes out tomorrow, Sept. 1st, and looks to be an interesting twist on the "infinite running" genre.
This actually looks like it could be better than the iCade cabinet for classic arcade game fans. The wider base seems like it could make it more stable with less rocking than the iCade.
oh man, they're re-releasing out of this world (another world) for ios. that was one of my most memorable pc games back in the day. i even memorize the last stage's password for some reason.
Here's the 1st official trailer for Shadowgun...the graphics look a bit toned down from their tech demo that I posted previously, but who knows what that means. It's intended to be a cross platform game, and was originally developed for Tegra 2 chipsets. Maybe they'll have a version that's tweaked upward for iPad 2/iPhone 5. Look's like a rather blatant Gears of War rip-off in terms of it's inspiration, but hopefully the gameplay will be decent.
Another upcoming mobile game with some very sharp graphics...Bladeslinger. Similar to Shadowgun, this game was developed with the Unity development tool, which is supposed to allow easier cross-platform game development.
Cave is going to be releasing an HD version of the bullet hell shooter Espagaluda II which will be specific to the iPad 2 (and probably the new iPhone which will likely have the same chip set as the iPad 2).
Oh my god do people still play games like that? Are we back in the early 90's or something? I wouldn't entertain a game like that in this day and age. What's the point when we have real games?
Are you serious? Nostalgic gaming is pretty much all you hear about on the internet. It's just we have a younger crowd here so you mostly see people having orgasms with the older squaresoft games. Go on youtube and you'll see some crazy ass gamers doing some impossible shit in games like that.
I'd rather watch someone play a game I'm remotely interested in and not some 90's throwback to be honest.
Epic announced a sequel to Infinity Blade at the iPhone 4S press conference today. I believe the screenshots and video are representative of what the game would look like on A5 chip set devices like iPhone 4S and iPad 2.
Nice! One of my favorite iOS games, Real Racing 2, is getting an additional graphics update for A5 chip devices and new multiplayer modes using iOS 5 mirroring to TV. http://toucharcade.com/2011/10/05/real-racing-2-to-get-even-prettier-in-update/
Y-E-S-! I was hoping that the Pinball Hall of Fame titles might eventually get ported to iOS, and it looks like they're going to go one better: The Pinball Arcade. Farsight is claiming that they'll be bringing 50 different historic tables from Gottlieb, Williams, Bally, and Stern to a very wide variety of platforms, including iOS. Their previous PHOF titles only covered Gottlieb and Williams. Sounds like you'll get a package of tables to start with (Tales of the Arabian Nights by Williams, Ripley's Believe or Not by Stern, Black Hole by Gottlieb, and Theatre of Magic by Bally) and then subsequent tables will be released as DLC. http://toucharcade.com/2011/10/25/the-pinball-arcade-is-bringing-some-all-time-classic-tables-to-the-app-store-in-2012/
OMGGGGGGGGGG, why doesn't android get any of these type of hot pinball games. Pinball Ride was good but I need more stuff of this level.
