I don't know what the release schedule will be, but Android is listed as one of the platforms it will be supporting. Check the end of the video...
This is my one major flaw with Android on the whole, it has a serious lack of decent games whereas iOS gets tons. I am seeing a few more games from big dev's such as EA (worms) appear lately but it still has a long way to go to catch up with what Apple can offer. I still hold out hope that the point and click classics that have become available on iOS will hit Android at some point because I just don't see myself ever paying the premium that comes with an iPhone just for the priviledge of playing a few more games. Now that they have announced ICS can support external gamepads, which when coupled with HDMI cables will make an Android phone into a small console, I hope we see an acceleration of game support. http://www.tomsguide.com/us/USB-hosting-ICS-Ice-Cream-Sandwich-Honeycomb-HDMI,news-12975.html
Infinity Blade II seems to be close to release, and Chair has released a new story trailer with some very sharp looking graphics...I don't think there's any doubt that they're very close to 360 level output. TouchArcade has a very positive hands-on preview of it as well:
I read that like 5 times and was like what the hell? chairman steve is part of the development team? and then was like oh.
Another promo vid for Infinity Blade II: visuals! The prediction that tablets/smartphones would surpass 360/PS3 graphic capability at some point in 2012 is looking pretty safe.
Zen Pinball and Infinity Blade II are both available in the U.S. now. Downloaded Zen this AM and did a quick run through...ball physics seem a bit floatier than the XBLA version, but not in a way that compromises the game. It just has a bit of a different feel. It's a free app that comes with one table, and additional tables are priced at $1.99. They don't seem to have the packs of tables available like on XBLA. Currently the selection of individual add-ons is extremely limited: Wolverine and Captain America only. Not my favorites, but I'm assuming they'll continue to roll them out in the next couple of months.
Here's a new video showing a much more extensive sneak peek at gameplay for all four of the initial tables for The Pinball Arcade. Two of the tables, Theatre of Magic and Ripley's Believe or Not, have never appeared before in previous Far Sight pinball releases, and Black Hole has previously only appeared in SD format for the old Gamecube Gottlieb Collection. At any rate, the graphics look identical to the current HD release of PHOF: Williams Collection.
People messing around with the iPad version of GTAIII. Apparently its also out on Android. http://uk.gamespot.com/grand-theft-auto-iii-10-year-anniversary-edition/videos/gamespot-plays-grand-theft-auto-iii-10-year-anniversary-edition-6347675?tag=topslot;title;4 EDIT: Had a look on my phone and on Android its £3.23.
Now this is amazing...a Sega port of a classic game that gets rave reviews! And the price is listed at $1.99...
Another teaser vid for Pinball Arcade, shown running the Tales of the Arabian Nights table on an iPad 2. I really hope this game comes out soooooooon...
Yeah, I'm happy that they're including views of the full cabinet design and art for each table in the portable version. Supposedly they're going to release two new tables as DLC per month at $1.99 or $2.99 each, and also have a "table of the month" pulled from the total library priced at .99. Tales of the Arabian Nights will be the .99 table when it launches, and that is a great deal considering how good that table is...my fave from the 360 version of PHOF: Williams Collection. I guess if you're willing to wait, you could theoretically get every table for .99. I'm not sure if I really believe that they'll be able to keep the two new tables per month going for an extended period of time, but it would be great if they did.
You have not lived until you have played a pinball game on a mobile device. YOU HAVE NOT LIVED. NOT LIVED.
I think they've become more popular as the graphic technology has allowed the tables to become more sophisticated and realistic. For example, Pinball FX2 was the top selling XBLA game for 2011.
that'd be intense, a first person pinball game. Your the pinbal but you still controll the flippers, it's just you see from the pinball's perspectivel and you only roll if you want to.
