Last Game You Completed?

  1. Uncharted 3.

    Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!

One of the best games I have played this generation with perfect pacing all the way through. There was a perfect balance of action, exploration and puzzles and the set piece moments were fantastic. The story was good and even though the inevitable 'supernatural' uncharted enemy did piss me off a bit near the end I never felt anything was too impossible. The game is a good length and I don't feel I have been short changed at all, now I just need to spend some time with the online segment so get on with it Chi and Monsly!

This game is the best in the series for me and should be played by everyone!

  2. The chase on chapter 3 pissed me off no end. I'm enjoying it overall, though I'd like some gun play soon. Very much early days though.

  3. Don't worry, you will get to use your guns a lot soon, they give you a lot of story to start this one off. One of the nice things I found was that the chapters were each quite long and had a point, in other Uncharted games I found they were over before they started and each seemed the same as the next.

  4. It's a shame I won't be able to play you guys online on U3, I would hunt you all down! Unless we were on the same team of course.

  5. I played on Hard and I had two main annoying moments, both big firefights. Effing pirates.
Managed to collect around 40 odd treasures first time round.

    Thoroughly enjoyed it though. GOTY.

  6. Was that the part in the hold where they come from both ends? I found that a little annoying too. The escape part that followed reminded me of one of the HD Tomb Raider games and actually felt like they just stole it.

I also got the 40 treasure trophy, seeing as there is 100 I believe some of those must be well hidden. I did see one on a ledge in Syria but couldn't find a way to it and assumed you would get to it later one, never did get it.

  7. Mine was the bit where you have to hop across the containers floating in the water. I had to resort to hiding in the water under one of the wreckages and taking potshots at the shotgun bastards.

The Water chase reminded me of the segment taken out of MGS2.

Also the ballroom. awful respawn location.

  8. I got through that quite easily but I find that the scenario changes everytime you respawn in Uncharted as the enemies sometimes pick different strategies so I may have got lucky.

I think there was a bit in chapter 21 where you were in a sandstorm and had to blow up a couple of trucks with rockets. I found that a real pain as there were lots of enemies with big guns that could take you out quickly, the trucks had machine guns on and I could only find 2 rockets so had to hit both first time. I died a lot!

The other one that wound me up a bit was in chapter 22 where you were fighting 4 or 5 of the Jinn enemies in a room with what looked like a square fountain on each side. They would kill me in 1 or 2 hits and the explosives they threw did crazy damage. As soon as you spawned all of them were on-top of you again and you could die in seconds. In the end I got lucky and found the scoped handgun that only gives you about 6 bullets to be the best bet. Glad there were not too many of those enemies in the game.

  9. did he duck under the rolling ball that's chasing him??

  10. That bit got me as well but wasn't as frustrating as the pirate bit. I used the two RPGs and the Hammer that I got off one of the enemies.

The Djinn bit was pretty easy with the Hammer too.

I've started my crushing/treasure hunt playthrough. I died twice in the fight with the thug in the toilets...

  11. Try doing all of those hard parts on Crushing mode. It's a right bastard, athough Crushing on U3 is easier than the other two uncharteds.

  12. I really can't think of the last game I finished. After playing Wow for 6+ years, I really haven't played anything else. Hmm, Half Life 2 Episode 1? But I have a long list of stuff I am fixing to start playing, or finish playing.

    Torchlight
    Crysis
    Crysis 2
    Metro 2033
    Call of Duty MW3
    Skrim
Back to the Future Episodes 1 through 5
    Borderlands
    Deus Ex - Human Revolution
    Dragon Age Origins
    Dragon Age 2
    Duke Nukem Forever
    Dungeon Siege III
    Homefront
    Kings Bounty Armored Princess
    Kings Bounty The Legend
    Mass Effect
    Mass Effect 2
    The Witcher 2
    Wolfenstein 2

Yes I know that is a big list, but over the years, I have downloaded a lot of games, yet never played any of them. Besides Torchlight, I haven't even played any of those games. I downloaded them, installed them, and loaded them to make sure the worked, and that was it. But now its time to get playing. Putting some time in to The Old Republic, the rest into these games. Also, Baldurs Gate 2.. I know its old as dirt, but never finished it. That is another series I would love to see come back, Icewind Dale, and Baldurs Gate.

  13. That's what I'm doing, onto chapter 11 so far.

The pirate section was a bit easier this time around as I mostly mid behind one of the boats and pistol whipped people as they jumped on.

Not looking forward to the ballroom

  14. That was a bastard. The bit before you enter that room is a bitch too as that tank bloke was a nightmare. When you start the ballroom, just stay at the entrance and kill everyone first, then when that wave is done run to the bottom end and take out the snipers and you will hopefully hit the checkpoint for the next wave.

    You going for the platinum?

  15. Yep. Completed on crushing, wasn't much different from hard although I found most segments a bit easier than before. 101/100 treasures, just the odd skill trophies and online stuff to go.

  16. @Encryptedmind

If nothing else, at least play the Mass Effect games. They probably won't take you long to finish, and I thought they were two of the best games of this generation.

  17. The two online trophys are piss easy to get and the skill trophys are easy to get.

  18. This does seem to be the easiest Uncharted game yet.

  19. Indeed. I had the U3 plat in a week.
